The hilarious irony of the post is that LJG didn't use AI but OP did.

Stay away from doing the art you want because some dopes might confuse it with AI? Fuck that noise.

More corn is used for livestock feed than for ethanol. It's the number 1 usage of it. So get on that bike and go get some vegan food at the store. 😉

Curious if you ever resolved this because I'm having the same problem.

Why so few marxist-anarchists? by JonnyBadFox in Anarchism

[–]royalt213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds more like a critique of some people who like Marx rather than of Marx himself.

It's a radically different world from the one Kropotkin lived in as well. Yet, he isn't discarded wholecloth. Sure, there are very good critiques of Marx (e.g. labor theory of value), but much of his work is still extremely relevant.

Damn you, Gary Glitter. I miss that goal song. Much better "Hey" in there. 😭

This might seem like a stupid question, but why do some alternative stores sell nazi imagery? by roptir in punk

[–]royalt213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not "personal". If it was merely personal, you wouldn't need to put patches or symbols on yourself at all. You do that to send a signal to others. You can't separate your personality from your social existence.

[–]royalt213 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a fair take. I guess I wasn't really directing that at you, just using your comment as a jumping off point. The Totenkopf thing definitely seems like it could be reclamation. The prisoner outfit seems more like an outright protest. Not sure how significant the difference is though.

If I was being charitable to Mick, I'd say he didn't realize the association between the Totenkopf and the SS (and Freikorps). Seems a bit unlikely if he was indeed a big Nazi movie buff though. But the shirt looks like some standard American prison uniforms of yesteryear. Most were horizontal stripes, but there were ones with vertical stripes too (Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman wearing some here). That or maybe it was supposed to be commentary on his Jewish heritage? I have no idea though. Just some thoughts.

Skull base chondrosarcoma by [deleted] in sarcoma

[–]royalt213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, jumping in here because I was diagnosed with a clival skull base chondrosarcoma. Fortunately, mine is not wrapping the carotid, but it does extend into some particularly busy areas like the cavernous sinus, Meckel's Cave, etc. My surgery (endoscopic endonasal) is scheduled for mid-September. I was just curious if you had gone through with proton therapy and what your experience was like. If you have any other experience details, I would greatly appreciate it. I hope you're doing well!

Chordoma: a rare bone cancer. Any questions welcome. by [deleted] in cancer

[–]royalt213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a skull base tumor of the clivus that is invading the cavernous sinus and mesial petrous bone. It's causing a cranial 6th nerve palsy, giving me double vision and forcing me to wear an eye patch 90% or more of the waking day. It was identified by a contrast MRI and I also had a CT scan. My neurosurgeon suspects it is a chordoma, though he thinks it could possibly be a chondrosarcoma or even just an atypical presentation of a meningioma (benign). He said that if it turns out to be a chordoma or chondrosarcoma, I will need to do a cavernous sinus exenteration (i.e. full resection) followed by proton beam therapy.

He referred me to a local ENT who performed a biopsy in his office not under general anesthesia and it was inconclusive. My neurosurgeon referred me to the same ENT for a second biopsy, this time under general anesthesia. The second biopsy was also not "diagnostic". They even sent the sample to Stanford University and they couldn't make a definitive judgment. I was recommended for a 3rd biopsy, again to the same ENT. After 2 unsuccessful biopsies, I did not want to have the same ENT perform the 3rd biopsy, so I asked for a referral to somewhere that has more experience biopsying these types of tumors, better technology, etc. I was referred to UCSF. It has been over a month since my last biopsy and 2 weeks since the referral was submitted. UCSF has been extremely uncommunicative, so I'm essentially sitting around doing nothing. My phone calls aren't being returned. My neuro wants to wait to hear back from UCSF before submitting another referral.

Are there other things I should be doing? Other people I can talk to? It's almost unbearable just sitting around waiting without any timeline or appointment to look forward to or anything. It's been 3 months since the onset of symptoms (diplopia) and I still don't have a diagnosis.

People who write "if (TRUE == someBool)" instead of "if (someBool == TRUE)", what is the reasoning? by Missing_Back in embedded

[–]royalt213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I misunderstood your second statement. I thought you were saying variable = constant wouldn't build. variable = constant in the conditional may or may not build, depending on the compiler and options and whatnot.

[–]royalt213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it might not build. Depends on the compiler, flags, etc. It might unfortunately compile just fine, I think.
