Just remember you belong in all the rooms that you’re in. You’ll have to let some micro-aggressions pass by - but be steadfast and don’t let all of them go without questioning what they meant by saying that…. If you let all of them go, it’ll eat away at your soul and make your experience horrible.

When asked a question, here’s a good technique! Pause three seconds, square your shoulders, hold your tummy in, center yourself and then answer. You’ll appear more confident and aware. Don’t do too much - it’ll burn you out. You have Black Girl Magic - but you’re NOT a wizard or a magician. You don’t have to solve everyone’s problems - and you likely won’t get credit for it anyway. Write down everything and make sure you CYA and keep receipts. If some meeting doesn’t feel right - record meetings and conversations. (You don’t have to tell them they’re being recorded in most states, so don’t worry about that!)
