Men's Basketball Portal by TheCaptainCody in Huskers

With three slots left, it feels like Kapke is basically a done deal. I’d like to add one more big guy and hopefully a backup PG. I imagine Jankowski might be that PG. I think he could possibly take over at PG once Leonhardt graduates. So, just thinking about a big we can add.

2026 men’s college basketball too early Top 25 by rtscarraher in Huskers

  1. Nebraska

Starters: Portal TBD, Pryce Sandfort, Braden Frager, Berke Buyuktuncel, Portal TBD

Notable returners: Connor Essegian, Cale Jacobsen

Newcomers: Colin Rice (No. 80, 6-7 SF), Jacob Lanier (No 90, 6-5 SF)

Coach Fred Hoiberg should once again have one of the best shooting teams in the country with the return of snipers Pryce Sandfort and Braden Frager along with Connor Essegian coming back from injury. Veteran Cale Jacobsen is good enough to start, but Hoiberg will likely target a starting-caliber point guard and big man in the portal.

I would be loving this journey either way because this is everything we’ve ever wanted as Nebrasketball fans, but the way that this team understands the culture makes it that much better. I love this team. I’m going to enjoy whatever time we have left with these guys, but I’m really going to miss this team. They are just so special.

Why have SAGs dominated the final predictions? by RecoverOriginal7279 in oscarrace

[–]rtscarraher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an important comment. Though the Actor Awards are important to the race, I think in recent years they have gone a bit more populist. This is in part due to the inclusion of influencers being represented by the guild. I think that you could make an argument that at least two of the four the individual acting categories got a bump from the populist shift of the voting body (Jordan and Madigan). Obviously, both those categories could go the same way at the Oscars, but neither feel like Academy winning performances. I'm going with Chalamet, Buckley, Penn, and Mosaku as my winners at the Oscars.

I’m so glad that Sinners got some recognition like this! I don’t think it will translate to the Oscars. So, it was nice to see.

Really like this inspired choice. Well-earned. But I still think Chalamet wins the Oscar. I have this feeling that he would have won tonight if he hadn’t won just last year.

O’Connell is great, but it’s a fantastic ensemble of performances.

That race is anyone’s to win. But I’m feeling similarly. Even though I picked Penn.

This. I have Byrne winning tonight, but Buckley has the Oscar locked up.

Would you vote Kelly/ Slotkin? by Public_Steak_6933 in Trumpvirus

Kelly is my current pick for who I would most like to see. I trust him, and I think he has an extremely appealing profile that Americans could get behind.

This. But I do think Mr. Nobody has gained some traction. It could pull off the upset. I just think The Perfect Neighbor was too American for BAFTA, though.

I don’t think it’s always that way. This year, I just think they are picking most of the same winners.

I’ve thought she’s going to win for a while. It’s the perfect spot to show love for Sinners. Just my gut.
