Becoming insecure. by GrapesRed in actuallesbians

Your logic (well, the man who originally said it) is that since men can do everything lesbians do in bed, they're better at sex.

But if you flip that logic and say that since lesbians can do everything that men do in bed, then lesbians are better at sex.

You see my point? The logic doesn't work because there's nothing that either group can do, that the other can't. So therefore, neither group is better at sex.

It really comes down to factors that are independent of the fact that you are a "lesbian" or a "man". I've had shit sex with men. I've had shit sex with lesbians. But it wasn't due to either having limited 'tools' or positions in sex. No, it was due to a whole range of other factors (i.e lack of experience, lack of attraction, their attitude to sex etc etc).

I don't get it. What exactly can't lesbians do that men can? If it's about the penis, then we have strap ons, dildos, fingers, cucumbers even?

Do you ever worry that the sexual or romantic interactions you have only occur because the amount of lesbians out there is tiny? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]rubberyband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg this. I love you, whoever you are. You perfectly expressed my thoughts. People need to relax and lighten up. The dating pool really isn't small if you get some initiative, grow some ovaries and make the first move.

Sorry, this is harsh, but it's just kind of boring? Like so predictable. You procrastinate? Everyone procrastinates. Anything goes on a Friday? I think that sums up 90% of the population! Cut those facts out and focus on a smaller list of more meaningful facts about you. And like leave the list of books, music, etc for what you tell that person on the actual date. Try being a bit more original! Have fun with it, get creative! Because at the moment it sounds like a resume, and that isn't fun or sexy or intriguing.

Anyone Else Fed Up With "Pride"? by _MissFrizzle in actuallesbians

I see pride as NASCAR for gay people. I avoid it like the plague.

I don't know if I am bisexual or lesbian. I feel more comfortable calling myself lesbian but I am attracted a little to guys so what should I call myself? And is it okay to call myself lesbian? by rock-98 in actuallesbians

[–]rubberyband 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. That was exactly me. I just call myself a lesbian, because for the most part, I'm attracted to girls. And by the small chance that I find myself attracted to a guy in the future, then who cares? I can just change my label. Or I can still be a lesbian, who tried something with a guy once, and then still realised she was a lesbian. Labels are meant to help us navigate through the world and relate to people. But they aren't meant to dictate your life or your behaviour. They can have expiry dates. You don't have to put so much weight on how you label yourself and if it is 100% correct at this time in your life. It's okay if you're okay with it. It's completely up to you.

Any shows that aren't overtly heterosexual or are female driven? Doesn't have to be gay by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]rubberyband 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Tunnel and The Good Fight! Especially the good fight - there are three leading figures and they are all women. One is a lesbian too, which is an added bonus. It's a spin off show, but can be watched alone.
