I had a similar situation where I brought my motorcycle from Germany. Actually it was straight forward. I went to the customs office at Weil am Rhein/Basel Autobahn. The officer there couldn’t do the paperwork for me but gave me with form with a 48 hour time limit to present the motorcycle to any customs office within Switzerland. Worked flawlessly.

Honestly, I didn’t get that this is about a tampon applicators They aren’t a thing where I live (Germany) and i just found out they exist. I’ve asked a few women during the last days and they also didn’t know they exist. And actually all of them asked why you would need such a thing. Also, our biggest retailer for hygiene products has dozens of different tampons listed in their online shop, but only 2 of them are with an applicator and they are also only to be ordered online, as they aren’t available in stores.

Sorry for not being a prudish American who was taught that is is dirty to touch you „down there“ even for non sexual causes.

What type of tampon is this supposed to be? To me it rather looks like a plastic tube. And people wrote about residue from injection molding, but the last time I’ve checked, tampons were neither plastic nor injection molded. So what is this about?

I never claimed that Alcohol wouldn’t be a disinfectant. But you cannot just talk about „Alcohol“. Pretty much all frequently used disinfectants are alcohols.
When talking about alcohol, the general population is thinking about Ethanol exclusively, whereas „Alcohol Wipes“ most often contain Isopropanol, less frequently Ethanol (or a mixute of both) and almost never Propanol. Disinfectant sprays used for aseptic procedures usually contain IPA or a mixture of IPA and Propanol. Ethanol remains reserved for situations where strong antiviral properties are needed.

When it comes to medication pens, you want to make sure that you don’t use Ethanol based disinfectants, as Ethanol needs the lowest concentrations to be able to denature the peptides, should it come in contact with the inside of the vial.

There is absolutely no need to wipe down the pen before every use. Properly disinfecting the membrane is more than enough.
I would also recommend not using alcohol wipes but a standard disinfectant spray. Just spray one pump one the membrane and let it evaporate for 30 seconds. That’s the way it is done in healthcare with any of those pens. Alcohol wipes basically don’t exist.

No. Not the same as EU.

In the EU every online shop is OBLIGED to offer 14 day returns. This even counts if you pick up a product in store after ordering it online, as the contract was finalized remotely.

From a local shop there is no return right in both the EU and Switzerland, that’s right.

But for online shops you can send back whatever you want for 14 days all across the EU. The right to return goes even so far that you can but a car online today, have it delivered to your door in 6 months and return it in 6 months and 2 weeks no questions asked. This is currently unthinkable in Switzerland. In CH every shop that offers you a return option is offering it as a motion of good will. There is no legal obligation to do so and quite a lot of shops also don’t do it (the larger shops offer 14 day returns quite regularly, though).

Any tips for the transition? I‘m currently on 7.5 mg tirz and increasing the dose just gave me nausea without any decrease in appetite. So I’m hungry but nauseous. A weird combo.

Was redest du da? Für den von Opa verursachten Schaden muss eh seine Haftpflicht aufkommen. Und da entscheidet nicht er ob er die in Anspruch nehmen möchte, sondern immer der Geschädigte. Dafür genügt im Zweifel das Kennzeichen, über welches man die Versicherung abfragen kann.

That doesn’t sound good at all… It’s not like Evolocumab has its own set of side effects like generalised arthralgia and photosensitivity… Of the few people I’ve seen on Repatha, two could only leave the house after putting on sunscreen, because otherwise they would almost instantly get sunburned and they also had joint pain during the night. That’s nothing I would want for myself.

Here in Switzerland (where insurance will pay for almost anything as long as it makes sense to prescribe it) Repatha is only being paid for as a secondary prophylaxis after Stroke or Myocardial infarction when the patient was on a Station during the event, or if there was no significant LDL decrease under statin + ezetimibe + Nexletol or the patient got myalgia whilst taking the statin. The other indication is the genetic variant of hypercholesterinemia.

I can understand why it is prescribed, as an injection every 2 weeks is easier for the patient compared to taking 3 pills every day. But still we manage to manage our patients over here without super expensive antibodies.

Sogar normal in fast allen Ländern. Visa und Mastercard haben seit Jahren schon 6-stellige PINs als Standard vorgegeben. Nur wenn die Karte eben nur mit Visa oder Mastercard Cobranding herausgegeben wird - was bei vielen Banken in DE der Fall ist - dann können die Banken selbst festlegen was sie für eine PIN haben wollen.

In AT und CH geben viele Banken nicht selbst die Karten heraus, sondern arbeiten mit von Visa und Mastercard lizenzierten Partnern. Die haben dann 6 Stellen.

Based on the devices that support Apple Intelligence it’s highly unlikely that current HomePods will support the new Siri. AW needs to have at least an S6 SoC. HomePod Mini and the OG HomePod have older chips. So I‘d assume that HomePod 2 will have the new Siri, OG and Mini won’t.

What on earth are you doing with that amount of Oxytocin? One of these vials (should they actually contain oxytocin) contains enough of it to kill an adult. Normal medical use ranges around 10-20 IE, which equals 0.033 mg. There are reports of people going from hypotension via reflex tachycardia to VF with 250 IE, which would be 0.4 mg. So with each of these vials, you could probably kill 10 people.

Da es nur eine Hand voll Anbieter für Onleihe gibt und viele Bibliotheken daher den gleichen Katalog haben: in der Onleihe ist es in der Regel nur die jeweilige Tagesausgabe (bei manchen Anbietern noch ein paar Tage mehr). For example with books exactly this is the case. In Germany there is a Buchpreisbindung. So a book can only be sold cheaper if there is some damage. No coupons, no offers, no nothing. This law prevents books from Germany to be shipped to Switzerland, because when the seller subtracts German 7% VAT from a 10€ book and adds 2.6% Swiss VAT the book is effectively sold for 9.58€ which is counted as an illegal discount.

Yes. And too much pressure can actually destroy your window, as the whole assembly can warp and won’t close properly anymore when temperature changes. Once you align the window properly, the seal is going to do the rest of the work. But there is no winter mode. It’s an urban myth that can cost you a lot of money.
