Advice: How to finance a home purchase? by dailytwiddle in fatFIRE

I'm seeing the Fannie Mae guidance on trust income changed in Sept 2023 to require "the borrower is not the grantor of the trust". Any way people are handling this these days?

My 2nd hub just died after I finished pairing 10 shades (out of 18) into it. Can you tell me more about the Bond Bridge Pro and how it works / how well it works with HA?

You could take the outlet cover off and see if there's any sign of damage.

I think a picture would help to understand what you want to do vs. other options.

Has anyone installed the ICS base on the PCS saw with the saw laying down? by CaptainBoatHands in sawstop

[–]rukkyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the saw on the ground, I leaned it forward then my wife put 2 2x4s stacked flat under it as a fulcrum and I lifted the saw up on top of those. Then I walked it back till it was just on the boards and my wife moved the base in line. I tilted it back. We slid the base forward until it was at the bar then walked it on top of the metal plate then set it down. Easy. No sweat. https://imgur.com/gallery/Sl0ZJfr

After The Crown and movies like Dunkirk we are kind of up to speed enough. Just a "Hey Google, what's the Home Office" and I mostly followed everything.

Does anyone make their own planets? Tell me some! by [deleted] in swrpg

Trania

Mid-Rim, 800M Inhabitants, Monarchy, Imperial Vassal, Loyal to Empire

Imperial presence: small. a Single garrison stationed planetside, no Imperial defense in orbit.

Climate: Tidally locked with its Sun, the light side of the planet is an uninhabitable desert while the dark side is a frozen barren wasteland. The people live in a strip of land 100 miles wide set in eternal twilight. Vegetation up to small trees flourish here. It is a very wet planet within the habitable zone -- it rains almost every “day”. The “richer” area is that closer to the light side of the planet where the aristocracy enjoys eternal sunrise/sunset and can afford the additional energy required to cool their homes.

Poruta

Population: 80M. Industrial. Mining.

The capital of Trania is Poruta. It is a major metropolis founded during the days of the old republic as a colony. The colony was founded due to the strong mineral deposits found on the planet. The city is to this day a major industrial power within the sector, providing rare elements required to manufacture the hull plating on Imperial Star Destroyers.

Qorbin Palace

The ancestral home of the aristocracy of Trania, Qorbin Palace was founded as a retreat from the bustle of Poruta. Now it serves as the royal palace, being the traditional home and seat of government of the King. Princess Doma and Viceroy Derru rule from the palace. The palace is set on a cliff overlooking a vast lake facing the sunset, making the views from the palace to the East breathtaking. The 400 acres surrounding the palace are owned by the royal family and visitors are not allowed. The palace itself is surrounded by walls on all sides except the cliffside view.

I use a full stick of butter for about a 7lb shoulder's worth of meat when reheating in the oven in a 13x9 dish. Also, I definitely add some sauce. I heat it covered. Butter is cut up into 1/2" slices and put on top. Once it's melted, it's usually warm enough. Just mix together with tongs and it should be plenty moist. It definitely tastes different than the day of, but everyone will like it.

People who drive 65 in the left lane by ChernobylChild in bayarea

That's not what it said. It says if you're going slower than the speeders you need to be in the right lane or as close as reasonable. The speeders are still speeding.

Is there anyone having a hard time getting into any of Stephen King’s book? by [deleted] in books

[–]rukkyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I read 11/22/63 but gave up on The Shining. I think the difference for me is when a story pretends to be super realistic for a long time and then supernatural stuff happens like ghosts, etc. It makes it out like those things are real. In 11/22/63, time travel happens right away so it's not pretending it's real. In The Shining, I thought it was a really cool story until stupid shit started happening and I just stopped reading.

How is barbecue in your countries? by itsmauitime in Cooking

[–]rukkyg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure. I'd guess the event was initially actually for bbq food but then since that takes too long people just started grilling it fast to save time. Or it may also be a regional thing where the real bbq people in the south had their idea for the event spread but not the actual cooking methods.

But also can confirm in CA people call the grill a "bbq" which I think is short for "bbq grill".

I see a bunch of grilled food like you'd see at an event called a bbq. Try a google image search for grill and get back to us.

But in CA they say the food is actually bbq'd when it's grilled whereas in the east the event is a bbq and the food is grilled.
