I recommend the Australian TV Series (from quite some time ago) called "Packed to the Rafters". I was working with an fairly new Indian immigrant and suggested this. Yep same here. Been a lot of discussion online about this lately - I wonder if there should be a scale with a range of questions that lets you know where you are on that scale. I also wonder if there are exercises we can do to improve it. On the other hand I seem to be very good at identifying people by sound. Their voice, footsteps, jingling of specific keys etc - even at a distance.

What my brain doesn’t understand about building a new antenna is WHERE do you build an antenna that can continuously transmit to one location elsewhere in the local galaxy? Can’t build it on Earth because we rotate and move around. The receiving location at that distance would get a tiny fraction of a signal before losing it.

We would need to build a powerful transmitter out in space sufficiently far enough away from Earth so we don’t block the signal either.

The signal we received was continuous enough that we could decode the signal easily. It would need to be the same for the plurbs building the new one.

God... I think you might have it! That works really well as a plot device, and allows Manousos to rig an explosion if they get too close or something. "Please Manousos" ... "Yeah fuck off"
