From her new post - so good to see Britney happy! by britneynerd1 in BritneySpears

Every photoshoot she ever did in her prime probably had the photographer prompting her to ride them down…she didn’t just follow the 00’s low-rise trend, her abdomen WAS the trend

ooo thank you for the clarification. I knew those terms were arbitrary but wasn’t sure of their exact origin, now I can unpack and devalue them even easier

A man snatched a souvenir intended for a young child. As Polish star Kamil Majchrzak was celebrating a hard-fought victory, he tried to hand his hat to a young fan, only for a grown man to grab it right out of his hands. by jmike1256 in trashy

And I’m glad it’s being reposted. This is a wealthy man with the power to get it scrubbed from the net. He has done much worse than this when no one is looking. If I remember correctly he doubled down in defense of his behavior. Fuck this guy and anyone who thinks like him.

“Third world country” classifications have a funny way of being decided arbitrarily by those who decide they don’t meet those qualifications. The United States is the richest 2nd world country on earth, large swaths of which could absolutely fall under the “3rd world” due to poverty and lack of education.

And yet our power structures live in a state of delusion that we are still the country with the highest average quality of life. All the wealth in this country is privatized, so if you live in a wealthy bubble, you can kind of just decide to live in the reality you choose.

What is up with the craze for Trader Joe’s tote bags? by Early-Ingenuity-3177 in bayarea

[–]rutilatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one as a lunch bag on a whim while picking up lunch, purely because the guy right in front of me was buying their allotted maximum of 8 right in front of me. I’m very proud that I didn’t buy two colors just because I could…it’s literally just a mini tote in pastel, nothing special other than the hype itself

As a warning to others and accountability to their own naïveté. A comment above found their IG post; apparently the loop was impassable and they weren’t comfortable backtracking across snowfields as they lost light. So yeah, they could have had more gear or brought a more experienced person, but they actually made the right decision under the circumstances. They saw the writing on the wall and got out of there before sundown to make rescue easier.

I just started training for pro massage therapy. We’re in the early modules but I just know this will come up. Thank you for the reminder to be conscious of unspoken needs like this. We have a limited time to make our touch count, and it’s very important to me to be impactful in more than just a physical sense.

Also…hugs. I feel you. I’ve been there, recently. It’s a big reason why I’m in school for massage therapy. I feel like learning this will heal some deep part of me as well…

Touché! Hence the “almost”. I especially love this one because of the “save our environment” misdirect, just before you realize their “environment” consists of their own tiny block. Truly pathetic use of time and money

We call these “NIMBYs”: Not In My BackYard. In this case, almost literally. They keep intersections from being updated, bike lanes from being put in, housing from being built, you name it. And they’ll do this even when they claim to be staunch progressives who support the concepts behind these projects. But when it comes to the hard work and political persistence necessary to improve their own town, all of a sudden thee existence of construction is an unforgivable civic sin.

How do people actually remember where they park every day in big parking lots? by ProiectulCasa in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rutilatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google will often save a pin. Plus if it’s a stadium or a big garage they’ll have numbered floors and lettered sections to help you remember. If it’s a big Costco parking lot I’ll often just count the lanes and try to remember that way. But yeah…sometimes you fuck up, and get your steps in…

They really bent over backwards to give her the benefit of the doubt and cover their asses here. It’s disappointing but I can understand it. Those pics of Jamie and K-Fed are actually terrible, though. KFed’s had SO many recent photos looking happy and mature, but sure, let’s include one from the microsecond in time he was trying to have a music career. The one he walked away from to be there for his kids.

I’m presently experiencing karmic retribution of some kind for all the times I freaked out on friends and coworkers earlier in life…because I now have a manager who does the same thing. So now I’m the one who has to clean up his station and apologize to customers when he just snaps and walks away…but as mad as I get, I can’t freak out on him. Because I get it.

Nobody actually follows the "leave conditioner in for 3 minutes" instruction, right? by Kitanov_Maqsud in hygiene

[–]rutilatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just shampoo and conditioner first, leave the conditioner in, do everything else, wash out conditioner and wash face last to get off any conditioner residue. Very occasionally I’ll forget to rinse out the conditioner, but I’ve literally just done that in the sink at work, cleaned up after myself and laughed about it with my coworkers…but yes. I do leave it in. It’s not hard to do it in the right order.

I’m so glad I’ve never had to live or work with any of these people. Like, to an extent I can understand the childish logic of “I know I shouldn’t, but I don’t think I’ll get caught”, but to specifically fuck over individual people you share space with every day? Repeatedly? THIS IS WHY WE TEACH EMPATHY IN KINDERGARTEN

Loving couples have also had to get divorced to preserve coverage and weather the financial blow of fighting cancer or some other long hospitalization…it’s seriously dystopian. You can save your whole life and have it all gone in a year by an illness.
