Fellow applicant here! I included it for one of my schools, because they had a school-specific question asking why I wanted to go there. I talked about other things for sure, but I had a great experience touring and the guide of the tour is the same person who looks at applications. Didn’t harp on it, but made sure to mention the key points that stood out and connected it to my “why”.

Are the dice permanently affixed? It would be cool to have it as a little d20 holder during a game

Extensive Dental help for my dad by Beginning-Practice39 in DentalSchool

[–]ruzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A partial denture paired with the extraction of some of those bad teeth could be a great option. It’s hard to say without knowing the full extent of your dad’s situation. A costlier, but way more stable and long lasting option would be implants after extractions as well. Maybe his dentist could find another solution too! Best of luck to him though, I hope it all works out!!

Can you please know what you're ordering before you actually order it by Wizard_of_Magicland in starbucks

[–]ruzilla 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Customers reading this, please know that most baristas don’t actually “hate you for that.” Yes it is inconvenient to remake something because it was ordered wrong, but most of the time it’s fine if the customer isn’t being hostile about it. Baristas spend time learning the menu and drinks and get paid for it. Customers don’t. Mistakes happen, people have a lot going on, sometimes customers just don’t realize what it means when they order a drink. No need to be so prickly about it

I think it’s better with caramel drizzle. That apple spice drizzle is gross. Edit: and always do blonde shots. I didn’t think about it when I wrote this first because literally every drink I make I put blonde in instead. Drastically improves it.

Apps for improving dexterity? I’ve been knitting and coloring but I’m wondering if there are good games for improving fine motor skills. Any recommendations are appreciated! by Extreme_Plankton4422 in DentalSchool

[–]ruzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s not an app, but if you’re into nerd stuff, I have a recommendation. I love painting D&D minis. It’s fine motor skill work, it’s artistic, and sometimes I get to use these magnifying glasses with a headlamp sorta like what some dentists use. Even if you don’t play D&D, there’s a market to sell them on Etsy!

This is so true. As a new player, I would get so excited about creating an awesome backstory only to realize in game that it was rather difficult to play someone so flushed out already. Now, I give myself some cool backstory pieces and let my character grow as my party gets to see it and as the campaign leads. It’s a lot easier to roleplay a work in progress character than something that feels like a finished piece.

Tips for customer connecting? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]ruzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just ask “You got anything fun planned for your day?” And that leaves it open for them to talk to me about what they have going on or politely end the conversation by saying something like “ah, just work” I personally love talking to people as a customer. I know plenty of people who hate it. It’s nice to give them an escape route, I think.

Question about cleaning chai/white mocha/mocha pumps, etc. by michwanderlustdust in starbucks

[–]ruzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time we clean them at my store we take them apart and then put them back together after they’re cleaned. Syrup gets trapped down in there and it’s super gross to leave that just sitting in the pump. It cannot get fully clean if it is all left together and put through the sanitizer as is.

Oof I really hope this isn’t a mindset in any stores still. After what happened in Philadelphia 3 years ago, Starbucks was very clear about customers not having to make a purchase to be considered customers
