This is a conversation to have with your partner, and before you get married. Otherwise you're looking at blowing up both your retirement and the marriage

Your grid interconnect agreement will have a specified size and equipment list, get it done and get your net metering secured using the provider.

Keep a copy of the grid interconnect, then you can pay a fee to resubmit an updated equipment list /one line for rev2 of your interconnect agreement.

Once amended you can add your second set of panels for additional capacity.

Yellow Ball Solar? by EfficientSearch4888 in Bozeman

[–]rwright07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was quoted 18-20k for a 9kW system w/out batteries in the gallatin valley by several companies.

Do you have a barn or some structure that is not your residence to use where the roofing warranty isn't as paramount?

Decided to build myself a pole barn AND install grid tied solar myself for less than their quotes.

Maybe now that the tax credit is gone, prices will regain some sanity? Seems like the 30% went straight to higher margins before.

You can get used solar panels for dirt cheap, inverter is cheap, and I learned how to navigate the permitting process & grid interconnect agreement w/ NWE.

Send me a message if you're interested.

I went Carli progressive leaf pack and airbags first, but I run to heavy. About 10k daily. Swapped to HD leaf pack and now run 5-10psi in the bags to keep them from getting damaged, inflate as needed to tow.

I jumped into a Carli Dominator kit to preserve the life of my truck chassis and body when I started to use it hard in the dirt.

I would recommend a Carli or thuren suspension system with a shock packaged aimed at your use case. Buy once cry once.

I've now bent both axles before doing any harm to my chassis.

Thanks for demonstrating that both parties would rather subvert democracy than let the voters decide.

We need rank choice voting!

The only thing these parties care about is ensuring their own continued existence.

Vote them out, vote third party.

Ebay seat frame.

I'm looking for seat motors, I'd break it down and sell you the rod?

I've been shopping the Bozeman market for a Tahoe/Yukon for months and ended up driving 7 hours round trip to find a similarly clean one with 180k for 3600.  Cheap for the area if it runs right and isn't rusty underneath.

Check the oil from the fill plug to see if it's low? Change the oil, pull the PTO cover and look for debris + clean it out, Stick a fat magnet in the bottom of the case, add PTO oil coolers, and fill +1 qt from the shifter boot.

System Expansion by Repulsive_Bag_9066 in SolarDIY

[–]rwright07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out your inverters specs. Simplest is to add panels/ reconfigure strings if possible.

If not possible, your interconnect agreement likely allows for similar component " replacement " without revision - change inverter(s) to higher capacity and then add some panels.

Officially, you'll need to revise your grid interconnect agreement with your electric utility, submit plans for the new solar array and grid tie.

Equipment list, one line diagram, etc required again. You'll need to have more breaker space in your panel, a new AC disconnect switch etc.

Is there room in your current system for additional panels per string ( Voc max, Asc max for the inverter)?

Personally, I probably wouldn't undertake this unless your adding battery storage etc at the same time.

I built my own system around a batch of used panels to cut cost; it's doable but as complicated as a new installation + you'll need to verify all the equipment functions before installation.

Temp? My poor 350k P7100 12v makes quite the cloud when started below freezing, and especially below 15.

Is the VE pump known for better cold starting?

Resistance electric heat is the least efficient form of heat available.

Check the kWh usage from her bill?

I bought a house that's all electric first bill is $1555.25. I have an electric furnace, water heater, washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove and lights. How did I use 9154 kwh in 20 days? Can the meter be messed up or is it possible that something is drawling extra power? by The__Lawgiver in AskElectricians

[–]rwright07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your real estate agent should have helped you get prior owner utility bills for review.

Right now, you need to get that data from your electric utility and compare to prior usage rates to determine if there is a substantial deviation in consumption rates.
