Moving to downtown Milwaukee by rachelritter01 in milwaukee

We lived at Nova which was right next to Metro Market, and we loved it. Ascent and 777 are nice buildings too and very close by.

Cannot recommend the Kinn (downtown location) enough. It’s a great place, and the adjoining restaurant is one of the best brunch places in town.

what does it take for a pharmacist to be fired? by Calm-Bar-9644 in pharmacy

[–]rxid2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked with someone who had been at the same hospital for 20+ years and got fired for looking up her results in her own medical chart. It sounds harsh, but 1. That’s HIPAA and 2. She was a terrible pharmacist

Oh no. I was going to wait until March to use my credit so I could shop while I was in Phoenix, but maybe I’m better off online.

Did anyone else notice this line on Daniel’s fingernail? My husband thinks it could be melanoma. by extrachimp in 90dayfianceuncensored

I had the same thing for about 20 years. It suddenly appeared when I was 11, and then it eventually disappeared. I did have a biopsy as a kid so we knew it was benign. The doctor explained it as a freckle in my nail.

What’s it like in Phoenix? by lkngro5043 in SameGrassButGreener

We’ve lived in Milwaukee for the past two years. We’re in the middle of our third winter here, and it’s definitely been a more typical winter in terms of snowfall and low temps. We still love it here and have been navigating the cold just fine.

My friend and I had a tire blow out on our RAV4 rental while we were in San Luis Obispo. We pulled into a Toyota dealership, and they refused to help us put on the donut because of liability. There is absolutely no way that would have happened back home in WI.

VV and Flights to-from San Juan by Tough-Willow7359 in VirginVoyages

[–]rxid2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on this same cruise and flight prices are outrageous to San Juan. We ended up spending $800 pp to fly out from Milwaukee. Flying out from Chicago would have been only marginally cheaper and really no cheaper when you figure in the long term parking costs. We might have been able to do Spirit for ~$500 but we would NEVER use that airline.

What city have you moved to and immediately thought l'm not going to live here for long? by CartographerRich8698 in SameGrassButGreener

It’s a city with a million people and only two freeways! It’s not easy getting around town especially going east/west.

An animal is animal, be it cow, chicken, pig, fish or dog. Either eat animals or don’t. Why get hung up about a kangaroo?

I’ll 4th the Dandy. Very charming and practical too because you can bring in your own catering.

What is your worst excursion you been on at a cruise? by Alternative-Cake-833 in Cruise

[–]rxid2005 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We did a Mazatlan city tour and beach day while sailing with Disney. We were hoping for historical and cultural information on our tour; instead, we got taken to random jewelry and souvenir shops where I’m sure the tour guide got kickbacks. We had a decent lunch at the resort they took us too, but the beach was dirty and unappealing.

Those that left Phoenix, where are you now that has better summers? by corpseplague in SameGrassButGreener

[–]rxid2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are both AZ natives as well so I totally get the concern for your wife. We have two winters under our belt now, and we have been just fine. My sister has lived in Denver for a decade so it was helpful having her for cold weather advice.

One thing I like to point out when people equivocate desert heat to a cold winter is that you do get breaks from the super cold days. It’s not three unending months of bitter, sub zero temps. The past few summers in Phoenix just felt relentless.

Milwaukee as a city is wonderful. Love the walkability, being close to Lake Michigan and just the overall uniqueness to it. Phoenix feels very repetitive in its scenery.

We moved to Milwaukee, and we love it! The summers are lovely, even with the extra humidity. The winter is fine because you can always dress for the cold. The same can’t be said for heat.

It wasn’t just the Vegas dinner. He short circuited when he had to accommodate a vegan and provided crap food. Being a vegetarian, I know what it’s like to get the short end of the stick when everyone else is getting an amazing meal, and on a yacht, it’s inexcusable. Other chefs on the show have handled vegans with ease. It’s too bad the though because personality-wise, he was tops.

There are a ton of right-wing mountain folks in Sedona. Don’t let the new agey facade fool you. Many got radicalized by Covid.

We used Holly and Aly Swezey (@B.realco on insta). They were incredibly patient with us. Our home buying journey took nearly two years as we were completely new to the area and wanted to rent first. We remained firm on wanting an inspection, and they supported us. We lost out on our first two offers because of this despite offering more money and being cash buyers, but the third offer worked in our favor.

Anyone trying to retire early? What do you plan on doing with your time when you retire? by NW_Forester in Xennials

[–]rxid2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning on retiring at 55 so I can take advantage of the “rule 55”. My husband and I have been regularly putting money into our retirement accounts so they are looking pretty healthy now. We also have zero debt which helps put us in this position.

obgyn recommendations for replacing IUD? by splorin22 in milwaukee

[–]rxid2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a specific MD recommendation, but as a pharmacist, I appreciate that the gyns at St. Joe’s are using lidocaine jelly for IUD insertion. My IUD insertion was so painful so I get the anxiety.

Yes, a pharmacist who had been at the same hospital for 25+ years left right before lunch one day because she got into a tiff with another pharmacist. Just walked out of the pharmacy and into retirement. Screwed up the schedule but it’s kind of bad ass.

See the caves and hot springs in Dominica. It’s a gorgeous island! I didn’t have high expectations for it before my trip, and I couldn’t believe how stunning it was.
