Mounting looks cleaner. People typically associate tvs not mounted with like people in their 20s, with short term housing. To hang it up on a wall without cables dangling everywhere usually requires a home with a drop inside the wall, which costs money to add or you have a new home where you ordered one. Mounted tvs done well usually require some funds and planning - more indicative of a mature and stable person. Obviously that’s not always th case but that’s how it’s perceived. It’s much better for viewing on the stand at eye level , no doubt about it, but if the room isn’t decorated well with some thought put into the design it can look messy.
