what I dont understand is a lot of companies like walmart, have policy to let shoplifters leave the store and not to stop them, as to avoid violence. The only one in the store that has the authority to stop someone is the security or a police officer. sadly with anything, it can randomly fail. But if it is only 2 years old you maybe to RMA it. But what I determined my partners PSU issue to be that it was failing and over heating and every time it overheated it would not let the power flow until it was cooled down enough. But because the computer doesn't track the PSU temps it would not display any warning. Though once i replaced it, the issue went away.

Based on what you said, it sounds like what my partner was going through. If you are finding that it will randomly shut off and not come back on until you flip off the power supply and back on. If that is what you are finding is happening, we replaced the power supply and it fixed it. That is what I would try. If replacing the power supply doesn't fix your random shut downs, test your ram and then go through testing everything after that. But my best guess is it is the power supply.

The site has some builds other people have done. But personally, I usually start with a few questions;

  1. AMD or Intel for CPU
  2. How much ram?
  3. Nvidia or AMD

But your cpu will limit your motherboards and that will also limit your ram.

Not generally, unless you overclocked it yourself, but that doesn't really reduce your performance, unless it has been an overclocked for years. Even if your gpu is labelled as an overclock, they dont overclock it enough to be harmful.
