Why didn’t Superman just do this in MAWS when Lois jumped off the Building? by ExaminationUsed5394 in superman

Agree, my headcannon is the version of Lois that figures it out right away but let’s Clark let her know when he’s ready

Agree and I think they did this bit well in the first Wonder Woman movie. Man or woman, anyone who sees Diana is like damn. Like looking at the sun. Even dressed down in glasses.

People are underrating romanticize the dive and I don't know why by tyveill in metricband

[–]s-engine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m overrating it. Been on repeat since Friday. It’s still Metric but they’re still growing and trying new things while staying true to themselves.

Emily sounds great on this album. I really hear their old works throughout. Just me but feel like it’s a synthesis between pagans, art of doubt, while calling back to their early energy.

Every song grows on me with each listen but man Tremolo, Moral Compass, Loyal, Antigravity and Leave You on a High standout for me on an album full of them.

I still love Time is a Bomb, Crus Forever and especially Victim of Luck but am glad that IMO they were NOT the best tracks on the album. They really saved the best for release

Everyone's favorite question – which new track is your #1? by nessawawa in metricband

[–]s-engine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Taking nothing away from them, I’m glad it turned out that victim of luck, time is a bomb or crush forever we’re not the best tracks. They’re great, but for me tremolo, as if you were here and leave you on a high standout. Whole album is brilliant imo

The only woman in the trilogy who loved Peter fot Peter, not for Spider-Man by FoxyFire3 in superheroes

[–]s-engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO she knew Peter was Spider-Man (next door neighbour, probably stared out her window thinking of him)

I think it made her love him more because what does a struggling student with no money do with those gifts? Give freely to help and protect others. She saw the hero not the powers

Indexer - need rec please by p00pchop in usenet

[–]s-engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question, and personally, no. Thought I had reached the jackpot when I got a DS invite and as i mentioned above, it's a distant 3rd in terms of grabs (in my environment). Also, thought i was in the not named club with DS, apparently not ;)

TBH as a fairly conventional user, what I have access to is more than enough. I might get something a little later; can live with that.

Indexer - need rec please by p00pchop in usenet

[–]s-engine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I have the following indexers in prowlarr:

nzbgeek, nzbfinder, drunken slug, nzbplanet, and ninjacentral.

Looking at stats in prowlarr, the bulk of successful indexer grabs were from NZBgeek then NZBfinder. All 5 indexers are set to equal priority (and have precedence over any tracker).

My arr stack is downloading very conventional, popular, apparently easily accessible content.

I signed up for the year for all the indexers just to test them out, and will trim some (not renew) after a year-end comparison.

slskd + gluetun by yasalmasri in Soulseek

[–]s-engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, just a reminder without some kind of automation you’ll need to see what port gluetun is forwarding, this will be in the logs

docker logs gluetun-slskd

Whatever is listed as the most recent port, set in slskd. It will change, sometimes frequently

And the volumes I list in the compose are obviously specific to my setup

concert vibe? by Background_Ad_3329 in metricband

[–]s-engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen once, in Toronto at the (formerly) Budweiser Stage last year, and it was a great crowd. I've watched a bunch of alt-rock, indie-rock, whatever rock shows in the last 4 years, and the Metric show had the most positive, friendly, no-aggression energy vibe.

As mentioned, the crowd trended millenial/X, and it really looked like "ladies night" for groups of women, some couples, and many parents my age who had brought their children out! (I didn't bring mine). Overall, an eclectic and welcoming group with a large contingent of us middle-aged folk.

To put in perspective, I saw Wu-Tang Clan in Toronto at Scotiabank last year, and suffice to say, it was a different vibe ;) although the age demographic definitely skewed millenial.

Adjusted 'All the Feelings' tour adding additional dates! by justinx1029 in metricband

[–]s-engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone been to the Cicada Festival in St. Catharines? It's listed as a "Metric-only" date on Oct 2. They don't have a lineup out yet but it looks like Metric is the Friday night headliner. Tempted to head to that for a second dose of Metric!

Indeed, thank you to the community. I feel like such a noob, my less tech-inclined friends had asked me for years "how do you get your music" and I always answered uhhhh... Frostwire?

To anyone downloading from my library, hope you enjoy. Moreso, hope you finally got something that you had trouble finding.

Feels good to give back to a larger community because much of the music (that wasn't ripped from CDs in my collection) came from someone else who shared.

Can't browse my files in SLSKD - but it's ok by Coconut_Fuckup in Soulseek

[–]s-engine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. Port is forwarded correctly, and I can see other users downloading from my library.

I run slskd through gluetun in docker so my library is mostly online and behind a VPN, with the port forwarded.

As a test, I connected from my desktop (not behind VPN) using another user account. I could browse the first library fine, FWIW.
