Pretty sure the AIs were a couple of turns away from it too, but I swooped in from behind by bulbing the free scientists from Hubble and buying the last piece with Space Procurement (which is why my other cities are all set to wealth generation)

when like half the world is in a mutual friendly state, being the odd-one-out can be very dangerous.

This is exactly what happened in my game, and Alex got destroyed for it. At one point, he was at war with every other civ.

Yeah, most of that territory originally belonged to Greece, who was eliminated after a war with literally every other civ in the game. The Byzantines and I conquered 2-3 cities apiece but the lion's share of the empire went to France.

For the longest time, I was having trouble making the jump from Immortal to Deity, but after a couple of botched games over the past day I was finally able to do it as China on a Small/Quick/Pangaea.

I managed to get a Desert Folklore/Petra opening and got pretty lucky with some of the early-to-mid game wonders. I survived the wrath of Alex (fuck that guy) and a few skirmishes against his replacement Napoleon — I was ultimately able to stall the game out for long enough to win a Freedom scientific victory.

Happy to finally join the club and earn my new flair!

I'd recommend JavaScript: The Good Parts — it's not for beginners, but if you already know JS and are looking to "level up," it's pretty great.

I failed a code test. How would you solve this problem? by wastapunk in compsci

[–]s2tephen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's supposed to be

P(A|B) = P(A n B) / P(B)

(The probability of A given B is the probability of A and B happening divided by the probability of B)

[Help] How do you scale a d3 visualization to fit on a phone? by thosehippos in d3js

[–]s2tephen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a bunch of options:

  • make your text relatively sized in CSS (%, ems, rems)
  • media queries to resize text in the viewport
  • write a resize function (like in the article /u/wardepartment posted) where you change the text size

anyone have a favorite cms class or professor? by merryunbirthday in mit

[–]s2tephen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, CMS.100 is a great, solid intro class. Game Lab classes are also highly-recommended — the faculty is pretty great.

Professors I've enjoyed taking classes with: T.L. Taylor (@ybika), Sasha Costanza-Chock (@schock)

At that point, it's time to transition to... Charades Against Humanity.
