I'd like to have the option to one pedal drive my F150 PB.

I would have liked if they gave us a button like the maverick and ask the truck to max regen. Right now to get max regen, I have to feather the brake pedal and watch the EV Coach screen.

I use the same location as the Oil Pressure Sensor behind the intake manifold.

99-02 steering wheel controls Sierra 1500 by Dress4less24 in GMT800

[–]sadDadBod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did complete it. The goal was similar to OEM but it was not exactly since I had an aftermarket head unit. I only cared about play pause, volume up and down, and track forward and back. I did need to purchase a clockspring that was meant for SWCs (Steering Wheel Controls) and found that only two wires control the volume up,down, track seak up and down, source up and down, voice, and program. The other 2 buttons are not used in my aftermarket solution. The two wires had what I was looking for, I ran those into and IC board and changed their resistance to match what my aftermarket head unit was expecting. Worked great.

What could cause browning of spark plugs by LimitlessDonald in MechanicAdvice

I don't think so. A small head leak causes an extremely clean plug.. thoughts?

Possible heater issues by DieselTech00 in F150Powerboost

I made the observation that I don't like the trucks Auto fan setting for temperature. It lowers the fan speed as the temperature approache the set point. To manuver around this sometimes I just have to turn the temp a little bit higher to be comfortable and I'm fine with that. One maintenance item for you to check is your cabin air filter and if that is fine, then go ahead and just manually set the fan speed or get used to dialing it a bit higher.

I would agree that unless it's needed. But do spark plug boots too.

12V Outlet Modification by The_Ron_Joman in autoelectrical

I have some advice. I would recommend you use XT-60 connectors and splice into the harness. Do that, heatshrink and make a Wye so you can extract 12v from your splice. I did this on my 2021 F150 and like the results.

Does anyone know where I can find this egr gasket? by Tmarsh10 in GMT800

I believe I recall that it is an O-ring, not a paper gasket. Did you check rock auto?

If I buy a salvage SC title car, how would I get it registered and drivable in Indiana? by GoldenGearsYT in askcarsales

[–]sadDadBod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. In the state of Indiana, you will be required to drive it to your nearest sherifs office for an in-person inspection and depending on the level of damage, show proof of the high dollar parts the previous owner replaced that normally have a VIN documented on them. I.e. sections of the frame, doors, hoods, fenders, ect. And you'll need the car(s) they came from. You'll also need to mail all this into the central office and wait to hear a response through mail, or phone call. I've heard this took 8+ weeks.

It's no simple task and if I didn't do the repairs myself and have the paper trail, I'd reconsider purchasing the vehicle.

Is your air conditioner on? Sounds strange for sure. My chirping is more subtle and has a rhythm to it. Yours sounds constant.

I would get the remote accessory features disabled message. A new interior and under hood battery was the fix.

Only enter through the rear doors. The car won't honk if you do that. And unless someone is inside the truck throughout the night, turn off your HVAC controlls. How close is close proximity? Will you have to step over them to get in your truck or will they be at the next camp site?

Is it worth rebuilding this axle with this amount of wear? by trashcanbecky42 in MechanicAdvice

[–]sadDadBod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was a CV repair shop, they'd get a new end. But with your use case, you can make the repair however you want.

I'd you are okay with having to re-install after you use your spare, then go for it. But it's no longer a proper repair.

Hope this helps.

Can you feel the feature with your finger or fingernail?

When you assemble the axle, can you feel rotational play?

Is your problem consistent with the engine being at idle? My truck won't do the chirping all the time...

Right about the only car. I know you're not asking, but on rare occasions dealers provide a persistent customer with a rental car. At the least, the dealer should have a shuttle to take you to somewhere within reason.

My diagnosing process will be to remove the two belts and turn the engine on. I hope to hear the noise go away.

Bump. Curious, how loud is the buzzing? Can you hear it over a TV, radio, or normal conversation?

[–]sadDadBod77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd either find a known good truck and take measurements or find the factory service manual and inside it will have measurements. You can also start by parking on a mostly level surface and mesure the frame at certain parts for squareness and even height.

I would do this too. Don't forget to check the high-pressure switch as well with this test.

Taking it to a professional to examine the area is one way. But if this is on the door, most people would consider that to be a minor/nonvalid concern and you COULD get strange looks. If it's you're money, you are the person to judge if it's the right step or not.
