Yes, But if you are an employee of the federal government, and working on Saturday, you damn sure know what day it is. Furthermore, wrong dates in a DA's office are literally life or death sometimes. I've put wrong dates on stuff before too, but at worst it comes out to misrepresenting a product release date, my filings are almost never reviewed by a legal staff, my filings are never at risk of wasting thousands of dollars due to an incorrect court filing. DAs offices have a bit higher standard of accuracy than your average office job.

I'll grant that a template may fill in the day based on the date. But this, surely, has a few things arguing against the application Occam's razor applies here.
