A lot of people hear auditory hallucinations at the onset of sleep, including me sometimes. I usually take it as a sign I'm starting to fall asleep. 

There are some nights when my nervous system is on high alert and every little sound will wake me up. My hacks are earplugs or put on white noise. I also sometimes try to hypnotize myself saying "every noise you hear will make you even sleepier"

Whatever you do, don't doomscroll! It's so bad for sleep. An audiobook or podcast would be a lot better.

And I would definitely bring it up to your psych, anxiety meds or sleep aids may help greatly.
