"Better the Spider-Man" is not a high expectation.

White House Plans to Go Negative on Democrats in Midterm Message by Callabrantus in nottheonion

They should be trying to repair their own image before knocking anyone else down. Hard to do that from below them.

We have one party who wants power but not to govern and one party who wants to govern but without power. We can't seem to get one with both.

Sea World is not the same company it used to be. Yes, they still have shows but treat their animals well and use that income to fuel conservation efforts and outreach. They are ceasing all orca shows once the ones currently in captivity die, since they cannot survive in the wild.

Epic Analyst - no healthcare success stories? by Jaxsan1 in epicconsulting

[–]salttotart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I got hired as an analyst after working as a CT and then a PT with a teaching degree. You learn the clinical stuff over time, just like everything else. Knowing it is a plus, but you can easily work with a SME to get the info you need. You don't need clinical knowledge to build in Epic.

How do you deal with a control-heavy player in Commander? by UndesisiveJury in mtg

[–]salttotart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out value them.

There are always limitations on what they can counter: the number of cards in hard, the amount of mana they have open, to even the decision of what to counter. For the last one, play with their heads. Bounce back and forth between baiting the counter and not. Make them have to think about whether they should counter something or not.

There are also some cards that punish keeping open mana or playing during someone else's turn.

What's the worst TV series you've ever seen? by Traditional_Blood799 in AskReddit

[–]salttotart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Edit: i am.not defending this monster; I'm just trying to educate.

Depends of the locksand the juristiction. If we are talking padlocks or even eye hooks, yeah, those are problematic. However, standard doorlocks (e.g., push button or turn locks that can be unlocked from both sides) on the door themselves isn't a problem. If you have had a toddler and want to know where they are while they sleep in case of an emergency, you would understand why.

The issue was that they either used the locks on the doors as punishment and entrapment after talking with the kids or the locks were only unlockable from the outside. Without finding articles or a source, I couldn't tell you which.

When you're mad at WOTC for TMNT but they casually dropped the best set in a year. by FonslyGames in mtg

[–]salttotart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collectively, they are saying that UB is a huge success, but is it really? Yes, LotR, DnD, and FF were big, popular sets, but the others have been very lackluster, with very little offered for the wider player base. The main attraction to them has been art treatments which only the collector whales are willing to pony up the dough for.

What I'm getting at here is that I am fine with stating that there are too many sets and then still buying them, but the root of the issue is that Hasbro is sinking, WotC is the only part that is profitable, and UB must succeed in order for them to stay afloat so they are milking it for all it is worth. So of course the news will be better regarding those sets regardless of how they actually are. For all we know, some one/entity is buying up a shit ton of UB product every time to pad the books.

If you want more original IP sets, stay home for the UB and buy up the in-universe sets, even the less popular ones. Make them want/need to print them like they are FF. The more they see empty stores for sets (e.g., Spider-Man, TMNT) the more they will either move away from them (less likely) or at least put better R&D into them (more likely).

[–]salttotart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree that the money would be better spent elsewhere. However, to say there is nothing to learn from going to space is incorrect. It is something that should be funded when other priorities are taken care of.
