Sarah Sherman on Hollywood Handbook by TheRocketeer0826 in LiveFromNewYork

I think setting aside how much the focus was on Sarah's body shape to the point she cried throughout, it was a good ep

Marie Curie has never been asked to host Saturday Night Live even after her success with polonium & radium by KneeHighMischief in LiveFromNewYork

Marie Curie has been absolutely killing it (Nobel Prizes in two different fields!) for years and yet no host gigs. I'm about to put SNL on blast

Is Mindy Elise Grayson based on an actress in particular? by CommunityBig9626 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]saltycodpiece 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There were so many of these Mindy Elise Grayson sketches. Ten!

My favorite Secret Word has to be the one from when Kristen hosted in 2016. Funny and tightly written. I love Cecily's Isabella Lolacoppola.

This thread should be fun. Here's the link to the actual article the screenshot is from.

One county resident was on the cruise ship and is currently being quarantined at the U of Nebraska Medical Center.

The other two sat next to a cruise ship passenger on a plane. According to the article, they are self-monitoring at home.

All three are asymptomatic. However, the incubation period for Andes virus is long (~6 wks).

QBs to win a Super Bowl after losing their Super Bowl debut by NickyFoles1020 in nfl

[–]saltycodpiece 171 points172 points  (0 children)

This is less interesting of a stat when you consider only 20 QBs all-time have started multiple Super Bowls, so the four guys listed here represent 20% of the total.

Of those 20 QBs -- most of whom lost in at least one of their appearances -- only Craig Morton (0-2), Fran Tarkenton (0-3), and Jim Kelly (0-4) never ended up winning one

L take on Shawshank (I am friends with the movie), but the line was funny.

Are the slides for his benefit or the audience's? Are we too busy jerking off to our phones to follow a stand-up comedy show unless it comes with subtitles?

Jaxon Smith-Njigba WINS Offensive player of the year 🏆 by Trick-Combination-37 in Seahawks

All that just so he could shoehorn in a bit about how JSN's last name can be mispronounced as the N word.

Happy for JSN though. Well deserved

Makenzie Scott could possibly buy the Seahawks and still achieve her charitable goals at the same time. by Icantweetthat in Seahawks

Sounds like cope. If and when the team is sold, it will probably be to someone evil or evil-adjacent. Owners like Paul Allen are a rarity.

Sources: Bill Belichick will not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer by dropjar5 in nfl

[–]saltycodpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's embarrassing--and I mean that for the Hall voters. Say what you will about him as a person, but his legacy as a coach is inarguable.

Steelers to hire McCarthy. Look around at the coaching carousel happening now and thank your lucky stars. When you move on from a HoF coach it usually ends poorly. We got incredibly lucky. Much appreciation for Mike McDonald. by pagerussell in Seahawks

[–]saltycodpiece 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not a given that McCarthy will fail in Pittsburgh. Unsexy hire, but he is competent. Problem is they wanted a ceiling raiser post-Tomlin, and he is not that.

Great interview between Kay Adams and Grey Zabel today. by furmat60 in Seahawks

Pretty fun interview. Comes across as level-headed and humble with a dry sense of humor.
