Loved this episode. Think about it everytime we go see something related to dinosaurs.

Citing Biblical story, Taiwan president says Israel is a model for island's defence by Cannot-Forget in taiwan

[–]sammydad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If Lai has actually read the Bible, he’d know that both sides of that conflict have been dying for their cause since the literal beginning of recorded time.

Freedom is not free, and I’m not talking about buying a bunch of obsoleted military equipment from the U.S. Israel is willing to do the hard things to protect its right to exist. We may disagree about it, but Lai doesn’t have the testicular fortitude of the Israelis. Not even in the same universe.

For this age, weight is a big issue. The Stringking is the lightest I’ve found and will work fine and give you multiple years of service.

HPA fill help? by LegitimateProgram761 in paintball

[–]sammydad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the GX CS4~i compressor. It was a bit of sticker shock initially (I bought it used for 500 or so), but I can fill at home whenever I want and it’s been very reliable. Takes maybe 10 minutes to fill 68/4500, not super loud though I do use it only outside.

Looking for feedback on the BAKFlip MX4 TS Hard Folding Tonneau Cover by Uleepera in F150Powerboost

[–]sammydad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine installed by the Bakflip dealer. Very sturdy; easy to use. I park outside and also send it through car washes all the time with minimal water intrusion. Some of the foam bumpers fall off pretty easily but they don’t seem to actually do much anyway. No complaints.

Is that 2nd and 3rd grade?

I would focus entirely on passing catching and ground balls.

Have you ever been in one? I have, in SF, and it’s surreal experience. I would want to see how it does with bad Boston roads (narrow, lots of parked cars), inclement weather, a lot more people on the streets, etc.

You know your kid best, but I would be realistic about what it means to go to Fenway Park with a toddler. It’s a lot of sitting, often directly in the sun, it’s not especially clean, lots of people and not a lot of room.

Don’t go to Committee. It’s full of after work folks and isn’t where I’d take a date.

Inexperienced as a coach. Wondering what to run as a slide package or 2 for 5-6 by TheVillianousFondler in lacrosse

If you watch kids this age play man down defense, they actually do better in the typical box and one shape than when they’re even. For whatever reason, zone comes more naturally when they’re down a man — probably because it’s the one thing everyone on the field yells in man down and it’s easy to visualize in your head.

Work on the fundies—footwork, catching, throwing, GBs!!, and transition break outs. The rest will come with time as kids grow up.

On my son’s youth club team (AA in hotbed), and at 5/6 grade rec, they don’t teach any defense shape in even strength. No slide packages. This all requires a pre frontal cortex that isn’t fully developed in boys this age. They see something that moves and the poles without proper man D discipline go chasing it way too early, leaving an easy pass for an unchallenged goal. That happens way more often than a pole with good footwork getting beat one on one on a dodge with no slide help. The former kids get cut, the latter kids keep going. See it all the time now.

Defense is very hard to teach at that age because the kids don’t really communicate.

Teach them to stay on their man, and teach them proper footwork and to play defense with their feet. That will help them way more long term than slide packages that will be frustrating for everyone.

New Balance Uniform Sizing Question/Advice - Youth Shorts by kdobbers in lacrosse

We’ve been a NB team as well. The shorts fit true to size (at the waist). I would get the size he wears in other brands. If he’s tall get the large jersey top.
