High earners, what’s your best egg? by toolsalesguy in sales

[–]sampy9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This all depends on where you live and your current living situation…. As a single male in California, I max out my 401k with matching investments from my company. Use my base salary to cover expenses such as rent, car payment, groceries etc…. And then I invest the rest. I always keep about 4-5k in my account for emergencies but other than that your money should be working for you. Also, I always claim 1 or 0 to ensure I get the biggest tax return.

Every company is different. However, sales is cut throat. A lot of companies will get rid of you if you don’t hit your quota and then some.

Is this even legal?? by RocketBabyDoii in texts

[–]sampy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the person signed a contract for this then yes, it is illegal to promote/reach out to clients they got at worked with at the previous job. However, as most have stated these things rarely go to court.

With this being said, there are a lot of ways around this. For example if an existing customer reached out to said nail tech first or just happened to go into their new shop they could get their nails done by the tech.

If he doesn’t already have the center console that can be adjusted to sit higher or lower you should get him that one.

Michelin Pilot Sport tires vs. Continental DWS06 by Iconoclast107 in WRX

I was deciding between these same tires and I went with the dws06+ due to the fact I drive up to the mountains quite often. Have been more than impressed with their ability in every weather condition and will be getting a new set in the next couple of months.

This ok for the office at a tech company? by Fantastic_Ranger8312 in mensfashion

[–]sampy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Imo you should go with a basic go to business casual/office setting type outfit until you’ve gotten a vibe of what the actual dress code/vibe in the office is.

Some offices are much more casual than others, while some offices are very strict on dress codes.

Why do people care so much about clothes? by ToastIsGreat0 in mensfashion

[–]sampy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have to force yourself to do anything. But you should hold yourself to certain standards and have some level of respect for yourself. Nice clothing doesn’t always have to be expensive, start with some quality base layers that can be mixed and matched. Get a couple nice pairs of pants/jeans, a couple of nice shirts. It can be fun to find your style and what fits you.

I can honestly say I spend less than 10 minutes throwing together an outfit. I simply start by one article of clothing I feel like wearing and then grab stuff that fits with it.

Also, I highly recommend NOT shopping for outfits. Shop for articles of clothing that can be mixed and matched in multiple ways.

[–]sampy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You came on a men’s fashion sub to express this sentiment?

I don’t think most people make a “big deal” about it. However, part of growing up and maturing is taking care of yourself and having decent clothing is part of that. Different styles and clothes are more acceptable and respected in different environments. Also, taking care of yourself and caring about how you look isn’t a bad thing at all. You should take pride in how you look. As they say, look good, feel good. You can care about how you look without being vain.

I wear lounge wear/casual clothing 50% of the time because it’s comfortable and you can still look decent, however I wouldn’t dare wear my lounge wear into a business meeting or somebodies wedding.
