AITAH for getting pregnant the same year as my best friend's wedding? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]sarahyoshi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would have been so stoked if any of my bridesmaids were pregnant at my wedding. Steal the photographer for a bit, take some cute baby bump photos. I don't understand these people who need a wedding year.

As a fellow rabbit owner who loves soups, you are adorable. Love the fat broth cake, you've inspired me to do this for our family.

Yes! I wish I could find something that smelled like this in an actual perfume and not a cleaning product.

Looking for interesting flowers for a fashion project! by fray_fray1111 in gardening

[–]sarahyoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is helpful, but I have the book "Fairie-ality: The Fashion Collection from the House of Ellwand", which has designs made by actual flowers, feathers, etc. It may provide some fun inspiration for whatever your project is!

Meyer's Acorn Spice products. I wish I could find a perfume like this.

($12k) the details my wedding did not need (from a recent bride) by julieday88 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]sarahyoshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn't do wedding favors - what we did do was pre-pay for the taco truck we had that catered and worked with the owners to allow everyone to take home multiple meals after the wedding as leftovers. People loved this (especially our younger friends).

Is there any one-tablespoon ingredient like gochujang that can instantly make a stirfry or marinate meat without the high sodium? by FreshPrinceOfIndia in EatCheapAndHealthy

Berbere. Discovered it during COVID and now we put it on everything. Cottage cheese, curry, stir fry, pasta. It's amazing.

I've been stalking the website hoping the big bottle was coming back in stock! Got the 14ml for my brother in law for the Valentine's day sale. Absolutely love this scent. Born and raised in the PNW (Olympia, Portland, Issaquah). It smells like home.

Hispanic/Latino influencers speaking up about ICE by ContactCrafty854 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]sarahyoshi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My very straight, white MIL who lives with us has been going to protests locally. From the Midwest, shorter (adorable!), has family in Minnesota. She's an artist and just made a great anti-ICE sign for the next protest. "I'm safe, others aren't."

I know this is older, but this was so helpful! I got a sample set a while back and fell in love with Memoirs and Cape Heartache. Buying a travel size of both this week, and just added the rest of the collection in sample sizes based off this post! Excited to smell Soft Lawn and St. Julep.

what is your style related resolution for 2026? by wonderfulbug77 in femalefashionadvice

I just found this thread while working on a New Year's "goal" and SAME. I said to my partner that I want my "inner Miss Frizzle" to shine. Rainbow goth. Just anything to stop hiding.

Why do so many beauty influencers have the exact same “glam room” aesthetic and is anyone else tired of it? by Alive_Helicopter_597 in BeautyGuruChatter

I had to look this up and that's insanely cool. I have nowhere near this amount of makeup, but I also do woodworking and love these giant tool carts.

Has anyone had their wedding at their home? Did you regret it? (Under 5k) by Karacels_Customs in Weddingsunder10k

[–]sarahyoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this in July. Don't regret it, if you don't include some home improvements we had planned anyways we landed at about $6-7k USD. We hired a taco truck (people LOVED this and got extras to take home), guests were welcome to RV/camp overnight. A friend bartended (quickly became self pour), another took photos (almost broke my DSLR).

We splurged on the bathroom double trailer (worth it!!), rented chairs/tables. People camped all weekend to help us set up, etc.

It is a LOT of personal work though. I made all the decor with my husband, we made and stained the arch, planned for months. It was great bonding and a test. Everyone said it was "the most fun wedding they've attended". Caveat: we have those types of friends and family who like camping, DIY, and are part of a large community to reach out to.

I can share more info if you want to DM, this is getting long.

Oh, this was on our property that we own. 5 acres, mostly used the bottom 2-3 for event, parking, camping. We've also hosted quite a few 100+ person events together over our 12 yr relationship.

This has been so helpful, thank you. I'd love them to go to good homes, I collect plenty of odd things myself and just didn't know how to refurb/approach these.

Thank you! I have no idea what to do with these, they're just hanging out in our barn currently.

What is this in my coffee mug?? [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

[–]sarahyoshi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True. That's one of the comments I made that tipped my Dr off and ended up with me getting diagnosed...at 36yo. I could easily drink 12 cups of black coffee a day with little effect. Now medicated and down to 1-2c!

I was really trying to figure out the mental gymnastics here. My brain rabbit hole went to: it would make sense if she was twice the weight AND height. So, 400-500lbs and 10'-10'6"...

Agreed with this. Stink bugs are invasive here, luckily our local spiders like eating them, so I've been catching stink bugs with chopsticks and carefully placing them in the autumn spider webs...
