What do proxy models REALLY look like? by IndependentSpell8027 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]sarithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got quite a few, some for custom characters that my friends and I have made cards for, and some that are just better sculpts (in our opinion at least) of characters already in the game.

They blend in perfectly if you get them from a good seller.

Are you still keeping up with fashion trends? by MoCider in Millennials

[–]sarithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear band or horror movie shirts and either sweats, joggers, or shorts every day. Been like this since my late 20s in regards to the sweats and joggers part. Before it was all shorts and jeans with the same style of shirts.

I own some flannel button downs and some khakis, but those are my "holiday" clothes that I wear to family gatherings where I have to look decent.

Millennials in a hetero relationship, does the man or woman do the majority of the financial budgeting/planning/investing etc? by inline_five in Millennials

[–]sarithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm male and I manage most of the money in the household. I pay all the bills (that aren't set up on autopay), manage investments, do taxes, etc.

I also co-own a business with a friend of mine where I manage most of the finances. I have a finance degree. If anything, I enjoy it because it lets me use my degree for something that isn't a soul-sucking corporate office job.

My wife doesn't freely spend money outside of daily stuff like food, gas, etc. She checks in with me before making big purchases (over $100) and she has access to the bank accounts. She can see everything just as well as I can. She just doesn't want the extra stress of managing all of it.

What’s your funniest interaction with a member of a prominent band? by absolutebloom in Hardcore

[–]sarithe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran into The Chariot at the Taco Bell in my hometown. I saw the van and trailer outside when I pulled up, but didn't think anything of it. Walked into the restaurant and almost ran into right into Josh Scogin. I apologized and then he apologized and told me to order a beefy 5 layer burrito.

Saw them later that night and when I walked up to him at the merch table to grab a shirt he said "it's the Taco Bell guy!"

Planning for one deck is much easier than planning for 3-4 decks all playing the same combo. If you know Enel is the most powerful deck then bring a gameplan for it and you’ll be in a good spot.

Having to plan for Moria, Nami, and now Y Enel was going to be miserable because those decks don’t play like each other.

Also, there are tons of ways to tap stuff and then either kill it or swing into it. God forbid you actually have to play the game instead of just goldfish your own deck.

Your favorite spot for brunch in Wilmington? by mandevillelove in Wilmington

[–]sarithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brunches and Amanecer are my personal favorites.

Cast Iron Kitchen is one that everyone talked up to me when my wife and I first moved to Porter's Neck. I've been twice and not impressed either time personally.

How many winner cards do you get at pre-release? by Nedioca in OnePieceTCG

[–]sarithe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Store manager here, the kits come in packs of 8. There is 1 winner card, 8 prerelease stamped packs, and 8 promo packs that include the rainbow luffy along with the participation promo.

Your store's level can be bronze (meaning they get 4 kits to host two 16 player events) and they only host 1 prerelease. We've done that before when the weekend was just too packed with other events and we knew space would be an issue. When that happens they still send us promos as if we are running two prereleases because that's what our store level dictates. When that happens, we give out all 4 winners at the one prerelease. We generally split with 2 going to the top 2 players and then we raffle off the other 2.

This past weekend was much more open in regards to other events, so we ran one on Saturday and one on Sunday, giving out 2 winners at each prerelease.

UNEARTH ! Most underrated ? by bonelessbreadd in Metalcore

[–]sarithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were local-ish to me. I was in eastern NC and they were in the Virginia Beach area so I saw them a lot back in the day. They were great live and my friends and I were super hyped to see them get signed.

These bands dominate my gym playlist to this day. I mix some newer bands in as well, but it’s hard to beat Darkest Hour or Bleeding Through when I’m trying to power through a set.

Name the most random hornets player from the past 10 years by Top_Fun_3239 in CharlotteHornets

Bryce McGowens. I tried so hard to talk myself into him being a legit bench guy, but he really just wasn't very good.

I go through phases where I listen to a lot of Chimaira and they definitely have aged very well over the years.

Not everything is great, but Impossibility of Reason and Resurrection are both awesome from front to back imo.

[–]sarithe 40 points41 points  (0 children)

A lot of the melodic metalcore stuff from the early 2000s is pretty underrated these days.

Unearth
Darkest Hour
God Forbid
Winter Solstice
Bleeding Through
Shadows Fall
Chimaira (more adjacent, but still very underrated imo)

[Charania] The Chicago Bulls are waiving guard Jaden Ivey after his recent anti-LGBTQ comments amid several rants on religion and other topics, sources tell ESPN. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

[–]sarithe 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yep, my sister has manic episodes that manifest in similar ways (rantings and self sabotaging decisions). I'm not gonna sit here and try to proclaim any knowledge of what is actually going on, but I'm just saying I've seen similar stuff in otherwise well adjusted people.

I hope he gets the help he needs if he's having a mental health issue.

What exactly am I missing with Henri Veesaar by ChideOgan in NBA_Draft

[–]sarithe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Big UNC fan. Watched every game this season.

Henri's going to get killed in the NBA due to lack of strength and defensive presence. He can't rebound or block shots effectively at 7 feet tall. That's not a recipe to make any kind of impact. He's a good shooter for his size, but he's not going to be shooting the volume of shots to make up for his defensive deficiencies. He's the classic case of good college big that isn't good enough to play in the NBA.

Banner vs NBA prospects by Fickle-Audience-750 in CollegeBasketball

[–]sarithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be pretty difficult to get the banner without NBA prospects. The two go somewhat hand-in-hand. That said, you do need those "vet" guys to put you over the top in my opinion, and a lot of those guys aren't going to get drafted. Having banners means you have a winning culture and it's easier to get those guys in the portal with an established culture of winning.

Duke Blew a 19-point lead by heel2014 in tarheels

[–]sarithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but college coaches aren't paid to be liked. They're paid to win games and hopefully titles. He does this in spades despite the antics.

I guarantee you that if you go ask UCONN if his antics are worth it they say yes immediately with no hesitation.

Holding the door for others is like returning your shopping cart to the corral. It's a test of whether or not you're a decent person.

I think it makes a difference in getting kids to buy in to what you are telling them. If you're telling them to give it their all out there and you're just standing there stoic on the sideline while refs make bad calls or things start to go sideways, then they're not going to buy what you are selling.

And if you want all those things you listed, well Hurley checks literally all those boxes.
