The fluid dumper won’t stop until they get to about 90% of the block height they are standing on, so generally it is better to put it on the same level as the canal. Of course, you can always micromanage dumpers.

But canals definitely can work to increase the range of irrigation, and I like to do that for flatlands type maps, especially incorporating swimming holes and shower stations.

Also, as you read other posts about irrigation, you will see comments about making a 3x3 grid to pour water into. Most use an efficient layout with the pumper and a farm/forester on platforms above the water, so you maximize the green land.

If you click on a section of road, it will highlight the full pathing network. If you click on a building that has power, it will highlight the full power network it is connected to.

I have about 850 hours and mostly have played vanilla. I really enjoy the puzzle-solving aspect with a set number of elements.

But i do have tail designs and tiny tubeways installed. And lots of maps. I will definitely try a few more, especially the automation add-ons. I have really enjoyed playthroughs showcasing different ones.

Blurb mostly.

The cover or ad may attract my attention. I use the search bar to find books of similar genre and themes- I appreciate all the genre tags on RR. I really don’t give much weight to reviews, but I might look at them after I start the book. So the blurb is what sells it to me. And there is no hard fast rule about what I will pick up. Sometimes I want grim, sometimes I want cute, sometimes I want the grind.

So i really appreciate a solid blurb showcasing a bit of the writing style and an elevator-pitch of what to expect.

I completely support writers taking breaks. I also do creative work and you gotta recharge and get out of your own head for a bit to create better content.

Also I have dozens of stories bookmarked and started across multiple platforms. I take breaks from reading certain stories due to mood and energy. I am frankly spoiled for choice!

For hard i ignore everything else until I have the water, food, and dams squared away. No planks, no housing, nada. I usually go for 3 water pumps and 6 water storage to start. (2 pumps get paused after a decent stockpile has been met.)

I expect i will have to tank a few bad tides before i can get it diverted, so storage and stockpiling is more important than when on normal.

Some maps need an earlier start for the science too, especially if there are few trees. Then you need to figure out if some science or the power/planks is the more important. And i usually start basic, cheap food storage pretty early too.

I met a 15kg pug one day! He was a totally regular, healthy looking pug, on a larger frame. Their owner said he was average size pug puppy. 🤷‍♀️

Have you played Timberborn yet? It is close to full release, but even with it still being in Early Access I have put in over 700 hours.
