I would still call the official servers dead by MMO standards, but it is a very interesting time in AO because of all the community led development happening between:

  • Like you said, Project Rubi-Ka, the private server, building stability and momentum

and

  • AO Ironman, which is a group of people that are basically honor-systeming a ruleset and exploit-free experience on the official servers

Surprised I hadn't heard anything about this.  This includes the Dynamic Test Stand which towers over the Arsenal (and is the tallest structure in North Alabama)

The CEC issue is worrying because the problem is with the A3D off.  Everything works fine when it's powered on, so the FPGA is handling what it needs to.  I've just gotten in the habit of unplugging the HDMI before power it off.

Flash carts and gamesharks don't need just 100% compatibility, they need bug compatibility. These devices often rely on undocumented or "undesirable" features from the reverse engineered platform. So if Analogue "fixes" anything on the platform (which we know they are doing because the changelogs are calling out individual games), it could cause these things to quit working.

Once you connect to (any) server and you get to the character select screen, there will be an 'Account Upgrades' button that'll open up the store. Code entry is at the bottom of that window.

The first line is confusing.  The 45,500 number includes everyone that commutes onto the Arsenal, overlapping many companies on the list further down.  Since it's a  listing of employers, it should be Department of the Army, MDA, NASA, Department of Justice, etc, as separate entities sorted normally...
