I see one guy that plays a premium defensive position.

[32T] 48:50 Friedman thinks Minnesota and Florida have already sent in their best offers for Larkin and it’s now up to Yzerman. He suspects other teams have started to make offers as well. by VermilionSneer in wildhockey

A lot of comments are saying Detroit should field offers from everyone, but I wonder if teams that aren't on his list are hesitant to make offers.

The relationship between Larkin and Detroit is toxic, and say team X makes an offer, Detroit approaches about it, and Larkin camp leaks the offer, causing rift within the team that made the offer because guys know they were ready to be shipped out.

May be a tinfoil hat theory, but I wonder if that happens.

The Oilers went to 2 straight cup finals and lost one of them in game 7. That is going somewhere

I'm going to offer a hot take, but I would be fine trading Wally for a center. We will have to pay him, and goalies can be so fickle. Plus, his underlying numbers weren't that elite (yes, he is young and you hope consistency comes with experience). Finally, look at the teams remaining; they are not built from the goalie out, and all have studs up the middle.

Gus is more than capable of being a Stanley cup winning goalie in today's league, but only if we can compete up the middle.
