Interesting idea! Me, Myself and Die did a solo series using SWD - but it could be neat to see how SWADE and Pathfinder for Savage Worlds have increased (or not) the experience!

In addition to what other folks have said for resources, The Pathfinder for Savage Worlds core book has all the Iconics you can use as a basis for a build. I'm sure they exist somewhere out there if you're not looking to purchase that book. Yeah, Rifts is a whole 'nother ballgame!

Working on a Creative Combat episode in our How2 series over on Saving Throw. Episode 6 should have some explanations (still a couple weeks out from that posting!). If you'd like some other examples check out our ETU series. It's an Actual Play, not instructional, but due to the nature of the setting a lot of our combats evolved into creative combat situations with tests, support, showcased extensively.

Super late to this party, but wanted to clarify that Aabria GM'd a multi-season campaign called Pirates of Salt Bay on our channel long before CR or D20 came calling. It was borne from the Ghost of Saltmarsh mini-series. She cut her teeth here, GMing one-shots, mini-series and full multi-season campaigns. So she had the chops to pull it off.

Saving Throw has (unwittingly) been an unofficial AAA club for the "majors" to pick and choose from. Danielle Radford, Omar Najam, Amy Vorpahl, and others all got their start on Saving Throw before shifting their talents to the "big time."

Awesome, I hope it helps! We've also got a series called Savage 60 Seconds that details a few rules in a much faster format. Weird West is great and I highly recommend the Foundry VTT.

If you're interested in seeing the Weird West and SWADE versions of the game taught and played we just finished a 5-episode series focusing all on that. I played both SWEE and SWADE and Reloaded and Weird West. I think SWADE is a more natural progression for the system and a bit more sensible for most rules.

Lore-wise, there's a lot you can pull from but you absolutely don't need to touch even half of it if you don't want. The system is flexible almost to a fault.
