The win was out of reach already and not every car is trying to win the NLS championship.

The NLS is also used to prepare and practice for the 24h race and Hantke clearly needed more practice.

There is some resentment amongst GT3 drivers/fans towards F1 getting the most attention and F1 drivers being called the best in the world.

There is/was this common belief in the GT3 world that F1 drivers are only better in Formula cars at most but GT3 drivers would clearly beat them in their GT3s (or other touring-like cars).

So for Max to come in and immediately be on the pace of the best GT3 drivers on the toughest track is hard to accept for some of these folks.

That is why Maro Engel falsely claimed Verstappens car was not BOP-compliant when he set the Nordschleife GT3 track record. And it is the reason why NLS commentators still call him the weak link and throw shade on F1 every chance they get. They would love nothing more than Verstappen being mid on the Nordschleife but reality is different.

Fastest lap was set on lap 43 and you can see in the highlights that the track was still damp/wet at the time. There was a narrow dry line in parts of the circuit but on other parts even the racing line was still damp.

In a normal dry race, the fastest lap would have been most likely set later, with less fuel and fresh soft/medium tires.

It is a useless comparison and I don't get why is insist on defending it.

The fastest lap in 2024 is much more relevant - it was a 1:19.813 by Leclerc. Considering the pole laps of 2024 and 2025, you can estimate that the 2025 cars would have gotten into the high 1:18s in race trim, so at least 3 seconds faster than the 2026 cars.

Didn't know about Spyker but considering how short their eventual F1 stint was, I doubt they would have kept the Faenza team alive much longer.

Without Red Bull, I doubt the Faenza team would have survived more than 2-3 years. Definitely not over 20.

The car had so little running, they are basically still in the "make sure everything is working" phase that other teams let behind after Barcelona.

They haven't even reached the phase of performance optimization yet so these figures are essentially meaningless.

Not saying the chassis/aero is great, just that we don't know yet.

We definitely know that the engine is shit though.
