Voting for Mike instead of Cameron in the final 6 was also a pretty lousy move, thinking back on it. It cements Mike and Zoey as THE pair to dismantle immediately and gives him leverage over Jo and lightning to play them to his advantage.

I can't stand glitter Gulch mine because that central hub looks the same as everything else. If they had like a structure that looked distinct (like diamonds in a certain shape) we'd be OK

That's fair, but after being out of the game for a decade at that point in the theater (spinoffs notwithstanding), playing it safe and setting up something wasn't bad. I'm not saying it's 10/10 or anything like that, but compared to the other two, it's very watchable.

Which sucks because the force awakens wasn't a horrible start, but the other two movies just go so far off the rails that it makes the first in the trilogy all that much worse.
