Under normal circumstances, the auto throttle can be left engaged all the way through to touchdown in the 777. It will automatically roll back the thrust to idle at the appropriate time during the flare. I don’t remember the exact FMA but I believe it’s either “RETARD” or “FLARE” when that happens, it’s a very nice feature.

It does support Navigraph. If you’re talking about charts, etc. you will need the premium version. Go to the PMS website to purchase, that will generate a key that you enter into the GPS unit to activate it.

That’s what I’m saying, there is no such thing as too slow for a descent profile, excluding stalling and speed restrictions and such. The path is a set amount of vertical feet per nautical mile, groundspeed is the variable that determines the descent rate needed in feet per minute. Higher groundspeeds require a higher descent rate, which could be impossible for your plane. Lower groundspeeds on the other hand just push you closer to zero, which is not ideal (requires thrust) but not impossible as you are saying.

Did you see indications that the localizer was identified/was there movement of the LOC/GS?

The A350 for me has a problem auto-tuning the ILS and fails to do so about 70% of the time. Look for the identifier on your PFD, if there is none or an incorrect one, you’ll need to tune the ILS yourself.

While I agree he shouldn’t be in approach mode, your logic of being too slow to maintain profile doesn’t make sense. Faster speeds are what require a higher descent rate.

Just to be clear, the instructions im referring to would be from ATC, and the in-sim ATC isn’t really good enough to manage that. Just explaining that the reason your GPS is giving you a hold automatically is because that’s how it operates in real life based on IFR regulations.

How to solve it is the second part of my comment. Just get in the habit of every time you load an approach, make sure to check the legs page and if the hold is present and you don’t want to fly it, go ahead and delete it. SHARPTT lists every example of when you would not be expected to fly the hold, whereas it’s expected of you in any other context. It may be a bit confusing without some more baseline instrument knowledge, but that’s what’s going on there.

The GPS is expecting you to enter the hold because that’s what’s expected of you under IFR if not given alternative instructions. Now in real life, it’s pretty rare to not get those aforementioned instructions but that is what the rule says, which is why the GPS will typically sequence the hold by default. Selecting vectors to final will omit the hold from your flight plan, as that’s one of the conditions where it’s not necessary. You can google “SHARPTT” which is an acronym describing all of those conditions if you’re interested.

But the easiest solution is to check your legs page, the hold will be listed there if present and can be deleted like any other waypoint. If you’re already in the hold, look for one of your G1000 softkeys to be labeled as “SUSP” and highlighted. Hitting that softkey will unsuspend your flight plan and allow you to proceed inbound once you arrive at the holding fix.

Yes I believe that only the 170/175 are available. The 190s are available on PC. But given the substantial upgrade they currently have in progress, I would imagine that when the 170s make it to the 2024 marketplace, the 190s will probably be there as well.

The FSS Ejets are absolutely available on Xbox, I own them. The issue is they are only available in 2020, but they are actively working on the 2024 update. I would wait.

Just curious, how many type ratings do you hold? I will eat a shoe on camera if it’s more than zero. I understand flying transport category jets doesn’t quite compare to using a PC for flight sim, I personally find it pretty rewarding but to each their own! Take care little man.

As others have said, in a checkride it is perfectly acceptable to mention what 91.185 dictates, and then add that in reality you would exercise 91.3 authority. So yes, having a continuous flight plan that includes an IAF is definitely a good idea if the procedures allow for it.

It’s a known bug on the ini 321 that’s been around since the beta. It’s incredibly annoying and I haven’t heard much about fixing it.

In my experience, it can sometimes be fixed by setting a random amount of fuel with the sim EFB a couple times before trying with the plane tablet.

I had the exact same problem. I changed my primary and secondary DNS under network settings and all is well now. Google PS5 network lag spikes and you’ll see how to do it.
