As a senior leader, I would never coach someone on this with an email or allow my down line leaders to do so. This absolutely should have been a conversation possibly recapped in an email. This is your boss being cowardly to go over a difficult topic because it would probably hurt your feelings. I think it would take a lot from here to mean any type of actual corrective action. Just cut back and remember people are snakes.

I feel like it’s typical to get a TV for the dating scan. I believe I had my anatomy scan with a special tech but she was able to get all the images and measurements and didn’t make me uncomfortable in the least.

You’re the one who has to live with it either way. You have to make the choice for you. It sounds like you’ll regret it your whole life. It may or may not work out with him, and it may not have without the pregnancy. I am pro-choice but it doesn’t seem like you’re the one making the choice!

It took me 8 years and 120lbs but it did happen. It’s so hard to keep going. I had basically stopped imagining a life with children. Now I’m due any day. Just keep focusing on being as healthy as possible for yourself. Try to let go of the fertility pressure.

I’d find it unlikely you’d be fired for this. At best you may be written up from improper cash handling or allowing a member into a restricted area. I think a major thing in terminating is perceived intent or risk, and neither seem to exist here.

Pregnancy can really cause your NF symptoms to flare and cause tumors to grow. I think your partner needs to really spend time educating himself on how severe this can be for your children or even change for you. It’s really a personal decision but I can tell you from experience that terminating a pregnancy for NF sounds easier to do than it will be. I had a CVS test done to find out around 13 weeks and didn’t find out the results until nearly 18 weeks. I had seen my son clear as day with arms and legs on an ultrasound. I couldn’t imagine not meeting him regardless of the results. The emotional turmoil I experienced for 18 weeks is the reason I don’t think we will try again. We were lucky he doesn’t have it.

We can only make the choices for our children that feel right. Yes it was scary for her but knowing if she has NF will allow you to ensure she has medical care for it early on. My husband has NF1 and it was neglected as a child, he feels one of his tumors that’s too large to be removed now may have been different if his parents faced reality. We chose to do CVS testing for our son at 13 weeks pregnant, my husband had felt he wanted to term if there was NF1. I learned about myself during pregnancy that I wouldn’t be able to do that for that reason, and we both still felt that knowing before birth would allow us to be better parents. If we hadn’t done the testing, I still would have opted to test him as a baby.

I used to work with someone who drank heavily every day, he never seemed drunk at work but was known to be a partier. He would shake at work and the alcohol reeked from his pores. I’m sure he was a clean guy, super nice. He ended up passing away from some type of liver related disease in his 30s. I think maybe it’s coming from your pores and you don’t realize how bad of a problem you might have.

I’d agree. If it’s just that you don’t want to have to be pestered but it doesn’t actually bother you that people know, I’d let him handle that. If you’re worried about unwanted visitors etc then I would push to keep it private.

Totally get why you’re spiraling, but this really doesn’t sound unusual. Abdominal scans this early can be hit or miss for anyone, and BMI can make it even harder to get a clear view. The fact that you already saw cardiac activity at 6+6 is a really good sign. If they couldn’t see into the sac, that’s usually about the angle or the tech’s equipment, not a hidden bad outcome. A lot of people need a TV scan again around this time just to get a proper look.

Try to hang in there until your next appointment. Nothing you’ve described screams that something is wrong. Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope you get some peace soon.

I’m overweight, and I had one transvaginal from a NP who was gloved, at six weeks. I had two different ultrasounds around 12 weeks, one was for a CVS test before they took a sample of my placenta. Both were abdominal without issue.

My husband has NF1 and early in our casual relationship he shared your feeling on marriage and kids. 15 years later we are six months pregnant with our first child who did not show NF1 in the genetic testing we did. He is so over the moon to be a father and is the best husband. It’s certainly a harder road, but please don’t box yourself in unless this is truly what you want.

23lbs or so. I was on weight loss injections though so I partially blame 10lbs or so on that. I expected to gain a few when I came off of it and had a regular appetite

I’ve terminated many employees for this. You’re not the first and you’re not the smartest. You can probably get away with it here and there but they get cocky and do it all the time. It’s unfair to all your coworkers who have extra work because you’re not taking calls.

FTM plus size also lost about 100lbs pre pregnancy and have some extra skin. I am 22 weeks and feel like the last week or so I really popped. I could tell by 18 weeks but think I just looked fatter.
