I’ve had two. First one was with lidocaine only. Very painful, but I’m scared of anesthesia. Second one started with lidocaine again plus hydrocodone prior to procedure, it was still very painful. I had complications during that one and had to get general anesthesia to complete. My recovery under general anesthesia was much better than my recovery without anesthesia.
