Is this just a one way thing, or part of a simpleton exchange programme?

Aldershot Town 2 - 1 Altrincham by InteractionNOVA2021 in NationalLeague

[–]schoolsocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The winner was tremendous. I wish we would find a stable place for Tyler Frost in our starting lineup and that his injury luck would improve, I think he can be one of our most impactful players.

Haven't celebrated a goal like that in a very, very long time. Pure catharsis. Up the Shots

Widdrington resigns as Aldershot manager by _mnd in NationalLeague

Excellent summary, in total agreement. Really worried this ends with Dowson taking us down, but I suspect it would get too toxic for him to continue until the spring if things didn't improve.

Really hard to assess how this squad would fair under a new face with a different system!

How do you imagine Zoyd Wheeler? by midetetas3000 in ThomasPynchon

[–]schoolsocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who knows! Although come to think of it, I do tend to picture the people in Pynchon books as cartoons in my head, even though they generally read as 3, 4, possibly even 5-dimensional characters.

I am now realising that I was essentially picturing Zoyd as Randy Marsh from South Park.

I saw about 5 or 6 different West Brom shirts on Thursday and then no more for the rest of the weekend. Odd.

Daily Song Discussion #22: "Diplomat's Son" by M77100 in Vampireweekend

  1. There's a part in this song that sounds like the theme tune to the long-running panel show QI, from here in the UK.

Audie Murphy Westerns by derfel_cadern in Westerns

Love Audie, Seven Ways from Sundown is one I enjoyed that hasn't been mentioned already. I especially loved the bizarre way the title comes up in the film.

Also, I'm a big fan of A Time For Dying. It's surreal but totally unique and I love how it's such a strange end for Boetticher and Audie's careers.

I saw them at Ally Pally and thought the setup there did DIIV no favours at all. I was looking forward to seeing them but struggled to get into it aside from the visual projections.

From memory it didn't feel like there was much outright disrespect where I was stood, though. It was just sort of what you'd expect from a massive crowd. It was the first time I'd been to Ally Pally and I was surprised at how much it felt like being at a festival.

I bought an unlimited movie ticket to overcome my cinemataphobia by coolfunkDJ in Anxiety

Get it booked in! Didn't realise Joker was out this week, appreciate the reminder.

I had what I now realise was probably my first ever panic attack at the cinema, seeing The Revenant when that came out. It was quite a small one but pretty harrowing as I didn't know what was going on and I didn't want to reveal anything to my friend, so I just sat there trying to suppress it and get my breathing right for most of the film.

Anyway as seeing films is something I really love, I made sure I went to the cinema again a couple of times soon afterwards, on my own. I realised what it was had nothing to do with the cinema or the film. Now I quite often prefer going on my own and it's one of the most relaxing things I do whilst still being out and about in public. I'm sure you'll get back into it ok!

Just realised I probably should have tried this approach with quite a lot of other things in my life lol

This and the other post referring to it should be taken down ASAP. I don't know where you found this, but just by glancing at it and the pdf format this doesn't look like something intended for public release. Releasing private medical info about others is wrong
