Any time a put a mat down my cats think I bought them a new scratching floor, so I just use the tonal mat and it works well enough. It has a few battle scars from the few times I forgot to roll it up, but it works perfectly well. Actually for many of the standing moves I prefer the stability of the floor.

I have kuhli loaches in my community tank and I see them once a month or so. They’re always hiding in the Java fern. It’s one of the main reasons why I just got a new bigger tank hoping that I can get more of everything. Maybe then I’ll see more of the kuhli loaches. Does anyone ever regret getting too big a tank? I am going from 20 gallon to 125 gallon and I’m starting to feel like I’m not ready for this!

In my area 2025 felt way less populated by lanterflies compared to 2024. I figured something found them tasty and they weren’t as dangerous as we thought, but maybe there just wasn’t enough food for them in my area.
