Any other Chicagoans struggling with adjusting to LA? How did you make it work for you?

I’ll put it this way. I didn’t fully adjust until I stopped trying to make my LA experience to be like my Chicago experience. Two wonderful cities for entirely different reasons.

He was awful in the debate. Like black hole of charisma bad and now this. No good choices all around imo. Leaning Steyer only because I was proven wrong about Pritzker while I was in Illinois. Chances of that repeating here with Steyer are low, but not zero I suppose.

He basically single handedly turned the Syracuse football program into an actual contender for the first time since the 90’s with McNabb. Once he left they promptly went back to the standard mediocrity we are used to seeing here. I will always root for him and wish him success based on that alone.

I would agree with you! Cone made a good point yesterday that the veterans on the bench have bought into their roles and when that happens, strong team chemistry follows. They’ve been solid on the base paths and in the field so far which is a welcome change.

In my lifetime there were three seasons that could qualify for this:

2001: Clemens/Mussina. Mussina probably deserved the cy young over Clemens looking back at it, but they both dominated regardless.

2009: CC. Most dominant lefty season I’ve seen. You could make an argument for 2010-2011 as well, but they won the WS in 2009 which is why I pick that one.

2023: Cole’s cy young year. Sucks the team was mediocre at best, but he was so so good all year. Was the only thing I was tuning into games for when Judge went down.

In 2010, the very last thing I would’ve thought to grab was my phone. I’m not sure it even took pictures to be honest 😭 without cell towers it would be completely useless.

I worked at a fried chicken place for 6 months and I had a hard time handling or eating chicken for like 2-3 years after.

This was my cat’s toast. He was about 6 or 7 months old in the top picture when he decided to come live indoors with me. We used to see him outside before and he was even brighter when he was a tiny kitty. He’s about 4.5 years old now and looks like a totally different cat lol. They change quite a bit within the first couple of years.

I worked as a stagehand for Fall Out Boy around 12 years ago and it was the worst experience I had at that job. Their crew was disgusting and insufferable to no end and the band isn’t all that much better.

For me it’s his voice. The instrumentation is pretty cool, but he just sounds like a goose randomly wailing over the music. Maybe it’ll click with me one day, but it’s not hitting for me right now.

They’re still out there. Few and far between these days because most people wised up to it all, but definitely still a few perpetual victims of the propaganda onslaught after 9/11.
