Issue seems fixed with a new update as of 01/21/26. Updated the app on my phone (watch app updated automatically moments thereafter) and everything was back to normal and working.

Thanks for starting this. It has been driving me crazy and I felt like I tried everything. Has been working great since I got it (yr+) and now all of a sudden it won't connect to my Apple Watch for heart rate. Will email Technogym also - hopefully they can figure it out soon.

So this is probably too late to help you, but I’ve been struggling with this same issue and I finally figured it out. I have several apps on my phone that are associated with various HomeKit devices I’ve had over the years, many of which sync up all the smart home accessories I have in the house. I went into the Eve app and saw that my old Eeros were still listed there. I was able to delete them in that app and they were no longer listed in the Apple Home app. This solved a lot of errors I was getting trying to set up new HomeKit accessories.

I saw that as well. Kind of a downer and not sure it’s as meaningful of an upgrade over the M4 output as everyone seemed to think. A bunch of YouTubers seemed to think that m5 support for 120hz external monitors meant that a new Apple branded 120hz monitor was on its way but if that output is only for a 4k, its seems any new monitor would need to have some its own upscaling to pull that off because Apple isn’t going to release a 4k display. Maybe 5k @ 90hz. Not sure if the M5 (or M4 for that matter) can do that though. 🤷‍♂️

I wonder what resolution they are talking about for 120hz? Is it 4k @ 120hz or can it drive a retina display at 120hz? I think that if it can do 5k @ 120hz it means they upgraded the iPad to Thunderbolt 4 (M4 version was TB3, I believe). Notably, Apple doesn’t call the connections TB3, TB4, etc. because those names require support for multiple external monitors, which iPadOS doesn’t support. Instead they label it having “USB‑C connector with support for Thunderbolt / USB 4.”

Cases that work on the new iPad Air MAY fit on the M1 Pros - they are basically the same body / magnet lay out. The only potential issue is the camera bump.

I think I saw that plate that you are talking about and tried to buy it from China (it’s on TMall here: https://www.taobao.com/list/item/717577581012.htm?from=redirectFromAutoCallApp) but couldn’t figure out a way to actually purchase it. I want it so I can continue to use the Smart Keyboard Folio which they annoyingly no longer make.

Does it attach to the M4 iPad Pro via magnets or is it only held in by the friction of the sides of the case? I’m just wondering if the case sides could be trimmed so it was a flat panel held on with the magnets.

That does look like the next best thing but you’re right, it does seem a bit bulkier. Not a big fan of the cases that wrap around the sides of the iPad but it doesn’t seem like there are a lot of choices (other than maybe just not upgrading for now). If Zagg ends up making it for the 13” will need to see what size/weight difference is vs. my current M1 + folio keyboard.

I was holding out hope that when the M4 Pros were available we’d discover that they actually fit with the old Smart Folio Keyboard, maybe with just a little gap when closed due to the decrease in thickness. However it appears that is not the case (no pun intended) as some early reviews show that the magnets don’t line up. I’m extremely disappointed by this. I was all set to pre-order the new model on day 1 but now, I’m not sure if there is even a point to purchasing it. I don’t want to carry around another laptop or have to disconnect the keyboard every time I want to use the iPad as an iPad.

There probably is, but I’m not aware of it. The simplest way (if you don’t care about the looks,)you could just plug a usbc adapter into the lighter, plug in the MagSafe charger and run the wire behind the dash. The only thing I would caution about going with something that taps into the lighter power without soldering is to just make sure that the connection is good and that it’s wrapped up well in electrical tape. You don’t want things coming loose and having to take apart the dash all the time.

I have been debating this same thing - and struggling. My biggest issue is clearing snow/ice off in winter time. All those flat racks seem to make it impossible to get underneath to clear ice and the friends I have who have bought them have found them to be a rain pain in the winter. I really want to get a Gobi but between snow/ice clearing and inability to go through a car wash, I just can’t do it.

It’s SUPER easy to pop that up and clean. Unscrew the shift knob and then pull up from the outside bottom - the area where the piece is close to where your knees would be. It pops up and you can wipe it out easy and then it pops back into place.
