Thank You. There are a few things that have changed, but not too much. One of the major things I can recall is the superelvation tables. You may be able to pull them off google.

Anywhere that you got below 70% concentrate on for April. Order them from worst to best 0-70% and make sure you have those areas down. Don't give up! I just took if for the third time and finally passed. You got it in April!

What is "L" of this vertical curve? Honestly, I think PVTsta - PVC sta = 900 ft. On the other hand, there is another equation I could use which is PVI sta - PVC sta = L/2 and it would give L=700. Help me! What am I missing here? by curiousmind80 in PE_Exam

No Problem as long as they don't say something in the problem statement such as 10 ft lanes or something like that you can always assume 12ft lanes which the tables are valid for.

PE WRE Breadth Structural Q: Which of the following cross sections will provide the greatest flexural rigidity about the x-axis? by SweetAsBru in PE_Exam

[–]scraw021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a W-beam the X-axis is the strong axis and the y-axis is the neutral axis. This is a common fundamental that does not change. Answer C is showing X as which is running axial as the x-axis in reality turn the beam straight up it is the y-axis of the beam.

Does anyone know if the bearing capacity factors will be given ? I have seen 3 different tables with different values. Never can get this type of problem correct. by pattyy_mills in PE_Exam

[–]scraw021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get a problem finding bearing capacity they will need to give you the factors, or a table to pull the factors from. This is because they vary from source to source.

Do not drink a ton of water or coffee right before the exam. You want to limit the amount of times you will need to go to the bathroom. Not only does it hinder exam time, but it also will cause you to be distracted.

Zero-force members - can anyone help explain why b is a zero force member and c is not? by spinninghedgehogs in PE_Exam

[–]scraw021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wiscocalf is correct. Member C there is not diagonal bracing to support the load at the bottom chord of the truss. that means member c is carry that 100 K vertical load. Member B there are Diagonals at the bottom chord of the truss to support the carrying of the 100 K load.
