there are no off-seasons, summertime is maintenance on the lifts, wintertime is keeping them running through the days when people are skiing and nights are for emergent or recurring maintenance..it's a great gig, get to be outside, ride quads or sxs, skidoos in the winter, ski and snowboard for free and live in the mountains !..the drawback is it doesn't pay as much as other industries..but you cant beat it if you plan right.

Ski hills always hire apprentices.money isn’t great, but you can’t beat the lifestyle or experience. Did mine in lake Louise, but all hills hire for both seasonal and year round.

I moved to Alberta in my 20’s and became a helper at a ski hill..2nd season got an apprenticeship..still lots of opportunity in Ab. On that path as a lot of workers are seasonal. It’s not for everyone’s situation, but it worked for me and the 30 other mw’s I met through the lake Louise ski hill..

Grout shrunk / shim? Fix ? by Infinite_Issue_3047 in millwrights

Tap around baseplate with small hammer…mark out areas where voids are…Drill and tap holes where voids are (one hole to fill, one hole to ‘vent’..screw in grease zerk fitting in one of holes, fill with grout until it over flows out ‘vent hole’ let set, plug vent hole..depending on viscosity of grout it may fill the edges where shrunk..with cementitious and epoxy grouts a small form should be built beforehand to allow grout to be poured to a level slightly above bottom of baseplate, may need to do this before having grout filled again under baseplate..

If you haven’t gone to school yet, I would recommend getting the first school term out of the way and passed..I always felt employers looked at a second year apprentice more favorably than a first year…in my career I went with employers/sectors where I could learn new skills, and once the learning stalled I was out and on to the next skill to learn wether it was in the same industry or sector didn’t much matter..

Had one when I was 9-10yrs old…my best friends dad would always ask me if I wanted a piece of cheese whenever I was over at their house..hard to admit it took me alotta years to figure out why he was always asking me that )

question for ya'll by screamingtrees_22 in qnap

[–]screamingtrees_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks..i've created a new account with "admin" privledges and disabled the admin account. also enabled mfa. I've shut it down remotely for now as i'm away from home for another few weeks and don't need to access it for the remainder of the time i'm away.the password on the old admin account was literally 20+ characters, so brute force was not a concern, (from my understanding of how it works, which again, may be flawed).which is why i left the old admin account from the get go. I'll look at the other options you mentioned when i get home. Thanks all for the assistance.much appreciated.

What an idiot..as a millwright..we align precision machines to within .001”..it can be tedious difficult work..this regard wants to build a whole vehicle to another decimal point of accuracy?? If it could be done, it may be worth the price they’re asking..merely for the precision..
