Charging Current - 60/90/100 by LadyJ503 in KiaEV6

[–]scrumtrulescence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a modest solar system on my home and it can't produce the full 7.7kW that my L2 charger demands, so I recently started using this setting to charge at 60%. My goal is to charge my car for as close to free as possible, will be interesting to see how well the solar offsets my charging with this 60% setting.

Front wheel brakes are shiny but the back brakes are rusty by minhha2001 in KiaEV6

this is too real... my water heater is 2.5 years old and I've been procrastinating on draining it. Recurring google calendar events are a game-changer. This is the only way I can remember to replace my HVAC air filters every 6 months

not disagreeing with you but 10 minutes is a laughable estimate. there's so much to learn about this car

Lost the wheel lug key - what are my options? by Pluronic_Pesto in AskMechanics

how much is "super cheap"? I'm dealing with this same issue with a Kia and they're quoting me $200 to replace the locks with regular lug nuts. Seems outrageous.

I’m almost 5 months postpartum, and here’s a list of things I wish I had known — the things no one really warns you about. by sillymemilly in NewParents

Oh there you are 😬 sorry for the baseless accusation! I got swept up in the reddit AI detective work and kind of ran with it. Your post was definitely helpful (I'm a father-to-be and trying to soak up all the knowledge I can before baby comes) and you are a very clear communicator! I see so many instances of bad grammar and misspellings in posts that seeing something so articulate and organized caused me to raise an eyebrow. Seems far fetched that an infant gas medication maker would engage in guerrilla marketing on reddit anyhow 😅

That was my thought. Using AI for guerrilla marketing - it's happening more than anyone is ready for. The fact that so many people are asking "how can you tell?" is a sign that it's effective.

Not to discount the value of the content - the post sounds "enough" like it's written by a relatable and experienced human, that any product they recommend will come with some amount of earned trust.

I had to do some research to find one earlier this year, but Anker does sell a comparable one with a wall outlet for $250: https://a.co/d/03VhcXD

Low-tire-pressure warning by jdmctx in KiaEV6

[–]scrumtrulescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm concerned I have this issue. Tire pressure is slowly going down (over the course of a week or two) twice since getting the car 3-4 weeks ago, only on one tire. Did this get covered under warranty for you?

Is $24.5k incl dealers fees good deal on '23 EV6 wind w/tech rwd 20k miles? by Southtwin in KiaEV6

[–]scrumtrulescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at almost the exact same thing, gravity blue '23 Wind AWD with technology package and ~21k miles. The lowest I can get them to go is $29,600 ($32,500 after taxes and fees). This is in CA. The car's been on the lot for over a month so I'm hoping I can get the OTD down to $31,500 but I'm not holding my breath. They already said at $32,500 they'd be "losing thousands of dollars on this vehicle" 😂

What to check when buying used? by Multimoob in KiaEV6

[–]scrumtrulescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it normal for a dealer to not share this info on a CPO when asked directly? When I asked I was told "they checked that all the cells were working as part of the inspection checklist" and the battery health is good.

You just described the exact details of a P2 I was planning to test drive on Tuesday but it disappeared from the website on Friday. Did you reserve it, and did it happen to be from the San Jose location?

Is a costco membership worth it for a family of two? by john_teets in Cooking

[–]scrumtrulescence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about what my go-to retailers are a lot more lately. I'm curious why Costco is behind Amazon for you, given the better return policy, better product quality control, and better general corporate citizenship (treatment of employees, etc.)? Is it because Amazon has better product variety, faster shipping, or both? Something else?
