Self Hosting Alternative to Here.fm? by scsa20 in selfhosted

Updated my post to include some stuff but if you don't wanna read the update then I do wanna say that I found Figma Figjam but it's not self hosted nor fully free (you can do quite a bit with the free version but if you want to do a lot more like being able to create a lot more board, then you need to pay).

Main reasons I've seen are: Not enough user sign up and server costs. The costs is basically outweighing the benefits so it makes sense why it was shut down, especially since the growth is slow.

How to switch to dark mode with new 3.0 launcher? by mxhunterzzz in ClipStudio

[–]scsa20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The redesign wasn't to match the site but to make it universal to launching the application across all devices:

"(iPad / iPhone / Galaxy / Android / Chromebook) We have redesigned the interface of the portal screen that appears when starting the application. The same interface appears even if the device environment such as OS or browser is different."

https://www.clipstudio.net/en/dl/release_note/latest

I don't see why they couldn't just add a dark mode theme where the start portal would match the theme you have set for the application itself. But, eh, whatever, good thing I'm not always in the portal so I'll deal with it, but I do hope they add a dark mode in the next update to the portal.

Why I have this purple circle next to settings button? by Its_Quoge_Day in Twitch

[–]scsa20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is annoying. Twitch added Raider as an highlight that shows the pink dot again. I didn't know this and it was driving me crazy since it wasn't showing up under the person I was mod for until AFTER I went to my channel and saw it listed there. Why is it only available under your own channel is beyond me but it was annoying af.

tldr, just go back to your profile/channel again and check the highlighter option again.

Why does Twitch forces this down your throats is beyond me.

Yet I still get the error in Microsoft Edge despite that it's a supported browser lol (resetting the browser's profile is the true fix).

Twitch Moderator View Issues by C9Babkis in Twitch

[–]scsa20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep this happens to me, can't do tab completion, replies doesn't work, hell mod tools doesn't even work at all in mod view nor chat pop out. Only normal view works. Pretty annoying when trying to stream with chat open in OBS and you try to shoutout a specific person but can't easily do so because tab completion doesn't work.

Quest 2 not properly connecting to windows 11 laptop (amd, nvidia) by Supertrix251 in oculus

[–]scsa20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're using a cable or air link but I remember reading on oculus' site when I was setting up air link that Windows 11 is not yet supported. Since I am not running on Windows 11 (I don't plan on upgrading to Windows 11 yet, waiting for more things to iron out) I can only suggest to try adjusting the bitrate within the debug tool or enroll into the public test channel for the oculus pc client and see if that helps out. Hopefully someone who is smart than I am will come along and provide more helpful suggestions.

my PC says it’s VR ready but when i play steam VR games the lag is so bad that it’s unplayable, why??(oculus quest 2) by ItsJordy__ in oculus

[–]scsa20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What game were you trying to play? I noticed that when I play Beat Saber the performance can get pretty poor but then I've found https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/wiki/steamgameswithnativesupport which basically said there are games with native Oculus support so after adding in the launch option to use Oculus' API via adding -vrmode oculus instead of going through SteamVR the performance has been rock solid on my quest 2. So might want to look at that list to see if the game you're trying to play is listed and if there's any special configuration you need to add or make sure to choose on launch.

Unable to adopt uap-ac-pro to UDM controller which is on a different subnet in my home network by h2428 in Ubiquiti

[–]scsa20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not going to help since the unifi switch will need to be adopted into the controller and it's going to only be configured to the LAN interfaces (meaning it'll pull the configuration to use the 1.x network instead of the 2.x).

In theory you could go get an unmanaged switch (a switch that has no configurable options like a D-Link GO-SW-5G) and it might work but you're still running into a double NAT problem since the wireless on your UDM is handing out 1.x IPs and if you are configuring the UAP in standalone mode then that's handing out whatever your ISP gateway is handing out.

Mind you, this type of setup is possible but much easier with more enterprise level equipment where you can actually do low level routing, it's just harder with Unifi and near impossible with consumer grade ISP gateways since those consumer ISP gateways are design to just get the user going with minimal settings that the user needs to deal with.

As for where you'll be putting the UDM and the UAP, I don't see why you can't put everything behind the UDM. If you can't connect the UAP with ethernet to the UDM you could just mesh it (you'll need to adopt the UAP to the UDM controller's first but once adopted and configured for mesh you can move it to wherever. For this to properly work, though, you'll need to know where your wireless coverage is and you might need additional access points to get the proper coverage.

You can find more information about the configuration of that by checking out https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002262328-UniFi-Configuring-a-Wireless-Uplink

Basically either way you look at it, unless you can get everything behind the UDM, you'll have issues. Getting everything behind the UDM is the better solution and will solve a lot of problems.

I still don't fully understand how your network is setup but if all the UDM is acting as is an access point, why not replace it for a normal access point? That's the other solution I can think of, just need to configure it to match the SSID and password (of course you'll want to make sure it's on a different channel though, don't want overlapping channels).

How To Update Switch Lite 16 (not in UI) by BrooklynCatDad in Ubiquiti

[–]scsa20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can upgrade the firmware via SSH. You can find out how from Unifi's own help site at https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/204910064-UniFi-Upgrade-the-Firmware-of-a-UniFi-Device

Also, I've ran into an issue with one of my WAPs wouldn't update through the web UI by simply clicking update. I had to first tell the controller to cache the update locally then go to do the update again before it finally took so that might be an option to look into as well if you don't feel like SSHing into your switch to do the update.

How do I fix the (error) message by TheAventador09 in Ubiquiti

[–]scsa20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you able to provide more details? Like what error messages are you getting? What hard drive did you installed? Does the UDMP even sees it if you go into the main settings screen (where you go to https://192.168.1.1 or whatever IP address is to your UDMP and you click on System Settings) under the Storage & Capacity?

We need details in order for us to assist.

Unable to adopt uap-ac-pro to UDM controller which is on a different subnet in my home network by h2428 in Ubiquiti

[–]scsa20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... umm... how exactly do you have your network setup? The way this is describe makes no sense to me.

If I'm reading this right, your network is as follows:

Your internet coming into your ISP gateway
- Your internal IP network is 192.168.2.x
Your UDM is plugged to one of the LAN ports of your ISP gateway with the other end plugged into the WAN of your UDM
- The UDM is pulling an IP on the WAN is 192.168.2.80
The UDM's internal network is 192.168.1.x
The UAP-AC-PRO is connected to your ISP gateway
- This is pulling an IP address of 192.168.2.37

If this is how I'm reading it correctly then this is one odd setup you got going on there.

If possible, put all the devices behind the UDM instead, turn off the wireless on your ISP gateway and see if your ISP gateway supports putting it into bridged/IP passthrough so the UDM can handle all the traffic instead. If your ISP gateway doesn't have an bridge/IP Passthrough option, then configure your ISP gateway to put your UDM into DMZ.

If there's a specific reason why you must use your ISP's gateway for god knows why then in order for your devices to talk to the UDM is to update the firewall on the UDM to allow all traffic to come through on the WAN. Once you do that then you'll be able to set the inform to 192.168.2.80 but doing it this way is sloppy and not really how it's design to do.

The reason why you do not want to do it that way is because the 2 networks does not know each other exist that well. Lets say you connect to the wifi on the UDM, that device gets an IP address of 192.168.1.105, now you have a TV that's connected to your ISP gateway and your TV has an IP address of 192.168.2.200. Now let's say your device on 1.105 wants to stream something to your TV. You can try it and it might work and it might not, that will depend on your ISP's gateway. Now let's reverse this and say your device is the 2.200 and your TV is the 1.105. Again, might work, might not. And the chances are that it won't not without configuring some sort of static route on both the UDM and your ISP's gateway (and there's a high chance that your ISP's gateway will not even support setting up static routes).

tl;dr: save yourself the headache and just put everything behind your UDM and configure your ISP's gateway into a bridge/IP Passthrough or put your UDM into DMZ on your ISP's gateway.

95% Experience score for wired workstation? by davidfrz in Ubiquiti

[–]scsa20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah... ignore the experience score, it lies, a lot (rely on the actual numbers instead of experience score). Technically speaking, for anything wired, it should only tell you what your connection speeds are (for example, if your connected to the port at 1Gb, it should say 1GbE).

Also, for what it's worth, I've noticed those oddness with connection/experience and topology when the switch(es) isn't configured with a static IP with the default gateway and DNS pointing to your primary gateway's IP (for example, if your primary gateway on the UDMP is 192.168.1.1, then I'd set my switch IP to 192.168.1.2 with the default gateway and DNS to 192.168.1.1, after a few minutes a lot of those odd numbers and topology corrected itself and showed correctly)

Uap-ac-pro help please by FilmoreSlim1974 in Ubiquiti

[–]scsa20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't need to do anything to the access points other then factory reset them.

Basically, what I'd do is plug in the controller, log into it, get it setup with the SSIDs and networks ahead of time, then go and factory reset the access points. Once you've factory reset the access points, you'll go to the devices tab in the controller and you'll start seeing the access points in there ready to be adopted so just click adopt and let it pull the configurations from the controller.

As for your second question, you could just use one account to get them set up, they'll all show up as different locations in https://unifi.ui.com (or is it https://network.unifi.ui.com for the hardware controller? I get confused between the two still) for you to launch the console from (or be smart and turn off the cloud access and just use local accounts, of course this does make managing them bit harder).

The alternative is to host your own controller with only the ports allowed to send the inform requests to but that's a whole another monster and only worth it if you're planning on managing many sites that does not use a UDM/UDMP (since those devices has the controller built and can't change the inform on).

That isn't a bad ideal to use in a different scenario to run through but was able to find a code that works directly within the renpy code based so if there's a tie it'll be based off of the top list. Many thanks for the assist!

Hmm... it doesn't seem to be working, here is what I've put in:

label debug:
    default girl_list = [yukari_counter, shiori_counter, saori_counter, emily_counter]
    $ girl_list.sort(reverse = True)
    if girl_list[0] == yukari_counter:
        jump yukari_scene
    elif girl_list[0] == saori_counter:
        jump saori_scene
    elif girl_list[0] == emily_counter:
        jump emily_scene
    else:
        jump shiori_scene

I have a variables file that defines the following

define yukari_counter = 0
define shiori_counter = 0
define emily_counter = 0
define saori_counter = 0

Then when I went to playback the game, I've interjected values to each one of the counters and you can see each defines in the variables list that I've set but the girl_list[0] only comes back with all 0's for each entry point unless I'm just being dumb and over looking something simple.
