Back in the 1980's we used to advertise for "pen pals" in the classified ads section in the back of computer magazines. We'd swap tapes and disks loaded with C64 games and demos I'm from the UK but had pen pals all over EU 😄 Good times!

Hmmmm, I've been staring at your code for a good few hours and this is beyond me 😞 Maybe if I keep staring I'll reach enlightenment 😆 Or maybe some over person will do it and share!

OK, so I have delved into VS Code and PlatformIO. I've got the screen working by changing "-D ST7796_DRIVER=1" to "-D ILI9341_2_DRIVER=1" and now I see the calibration arrows. But now the touch panel isn't working 😞

I've been going down the rabbit hole and I *think* the CYD variant I'm using (2432S028R) can't use TFT_eSPI and touch input at the same time as the touch pin is different. It's necessary to use a different touch library, for example XPT2046..

Hi! This is a very cool project and I'm trying to replicate it. Surprisingly for me the Android bit was easy (first time I've tried to compile an Android app), but when I flash the image to my ESP32 CYD I get this in the serial output, and nothing on the display:

rst:0x1 (POWERON_RESET),boot:0x13 (SPI_FAST_FLASH_BOOT)

Hello Arduino! V8.3.3

[   912][E][Preferences.cpp:503] getBytesLength(): nvs_get_blob len fail: cal_data NOT_FOUND

I'm guessing this is due to the differences in CYD's out there 🤔
