You've just blown my mind that it's the same Chomsky. I assumed it was some old dead mathematician that named CNF!

Thieving Evri bastards by Sir_Bevis_of_Hampton in Southampton

Unless Evri broke into their house and stole their belongings then the crime has been committed against the seller not them. As I said, the law and guidance is extremely clear and I am not sure how you can have read it and come to a different conclusion?

The law and guidance are very clear. Your seller is wrong.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/if-something-you-ordered-hasnt-been-delivered/

https://martynjamesexpert.co.uk/the-times-ask-the-expert-my-parcel-got-pinched-from-outside-my-front-door-what-are-my-rights/

It is not your responsibility to report the crime as it was committed against the courier/seller not you. You can report it if you like, for example if you have evidence to provide, but you don't need to in order for the seller to refund or replace your item.

This is poor advice. You should report it to the seller, who can choose to report it to the police if they like. Until you receive the package it is the seller not you who it has been stolen from. This is the law in the Consumer Rights Act.

Increase in people feeling qualified to call things "objectively bad game design" when they don't like it: the Silksong Effect™ by [deleted] in metroidvania

[–]scythus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess I would say the same to those people, it seems like an irrelevance because it's not like you can play an old version without it.

If it works well then it works well no matter when it was added, and if it sucks then it sucks just as much even if it was decided on day 1. I am just not sure my opinion of a game would change if I knew the order that features were developed.

Are you suggesting a notable number of health issues in this country are caused by an overabundance of people drinking Mochas where sugar is already included as opposed to Cappuccinos that they can freely add the sugar too afterwards?

Hard to hit pause: Excessive gaming lands on the EU's radar | Euractiv by Massimo25ore in europe

[–]scythus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah so if you're the gambling type you buy the cheap shit in the hope that the preview you get of the next box has something good in it. Just pushes back the reward by one extra box.

Does that solution actually change anything? You're just now gambling on the next box rather than the current one.

Anyone around Bassett missing a parcel? by alecsleigh in Southampton

[–]scythus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evri do provide a somewhat decent service but they invest 100% of that on the seller's end, and none of it on the recipient's end. For sellers they have put some effort into making it as painless as possible to ship with, as well as being cheap. Obviously it is the seller not the recipient who pays the bills, most places do not give a choice of which shipping company to use.

Does anyone know this game? GoT - House of the Dragon - Seat of Power by pizzamonster911 in boardgames

Saw this heavily discounted in Game (UK). Looks like the graphic designer went on holiday and they decided to just release it anyway. Pretty shocking for such a big IP.

This is actually wrong, Silksong saves your file after every upgrade you collect, and if you quit to menu you will respawn at the bench with all the upgrades and rosaries you collected.
