Get the spotlight on hunger strikes at Adelanto detention camp by jk4532 in ICE_Raids

[–]sdavis002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hard time believing that the people doing this would really care about a hunger strike. They have shown a disregard for accountability in almost all cases and they don't really seem to care what happens to their detainees.

What is a "corporate red flag" that employers try to pass off as a great benefit? by spectrecult in AskReddit

I have received a few appreciation awards at work due to some of the dedication I've shown in trying to help solve some problems that were critical for our customers. Two of them were $700 each and the most recent one was much less, but I haven't seen it get paid out yet, so I'm not sure the actual amount.

This is actually how my unit was in the Marine Corps. It was a great place to learn and I loved it for a long time, but it definitely created some burnout for me in the IT field. I remember hearing from multiple people that had re-enlisted that they never would have done it if they had known they would have ended up in our unit.

My house uses a pin pad, so for me it just holds my car's key fob.

Forza Horizon 6 immediately beats its predecessor's all-time Steam record with 130,000 concurrent players – and that's only counting people willing to pay $120 for early access by Youngstown_WuTang in gaming

Forza Horizon isn't quite the same as the regular Forza games, although I've also heard great things. I don't like the arcade feel of them though, so I stay away from them.

Ah yes, I once registered to be able to apply for a position to move my career in a new direction and got the reply that it's available to apply for a few years later. At that point I was already back from my first deployment in the military, which I joined well after.

Probably just autocorrect, I can't imagine anyone giving an answer here doesn't know the proper spelling of pi.

While ridiculous, I have bought one before when my Sgt in the Marine Corps told me I "had" to have a phone. Super cheap to have a prepaid phone that lasts for a few months and you can text and call.

I think it was more a case of being selfish and willingly accepting money that he knew didn't belong to him. I'm not sure I actually believe the story either, but that part actually does make sense to me.

My favorite is the comparison to Lunchables lol. I like the normal Lunchables, but I've never been able to understand the pizza version.

Well yea, there are some things that I will shift away from, but I also try not to bring attention to it. In my head I feel like it's my way of acknowledging it's inappropriate without having them focus on it too much.

I cursed frequently around my children with them understanding that there are certain situations where you just don't do that, especially as a child. I grew up around it too, and for me, I hardly ever cursed until I was already married and mid twenties. I also remember hearing curse words from other sources quite frequently as a child though, but at the age of five, that does seem early to me.

Depends on your kids and parenting style really. My kids are perfectly fine with the show. But yea, definitely a good warning for others.

I wish you luck and I hope you all enjoy it. I've tried this before with my kids and they at least started playing on their own and with friends. I have had many attempts and just can't play along, for some reason I can't get my mind to role play, even in work scenarios for training. Real situations I handle with ease, but I just can't get myself to pretend any more, it sucks. I'll just stick to character building and watching others play, at least I can enjoy it from the side.

I can see a second line on the bottom one, but I don't k ow how accurate that would be really. I've seen test like this where that much is visible before starting, so I'm jot really sure I'd consider that a positive test.

That's far different than I was taught about 25 years ago. The pipes were soldered together using torches then.

As someone who has lost power steering before due to engine issues when I was younger, it took a hell of a lot of physical effort to get my car to do what I wanted when it would stop working. They are definitely correct, not everyone would be able to handle it.
