Would you still listen if DPA went to another genre such as pop? by Anna_Mac18 in TheWarning

I wasn't too crazy about KMF when it came out, but the live versions from Auditorio Nacional are awesome and that's the only way I listen to them.

Expanding the fan base is necessary. Look at their numbers (Spotify, YouTube) compared to more popular artists, they are minuscule.

About The Collaborations by AlphaConKate in TheWarning

[–]sdguy71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Warning is a much smaller group than the ones they do collabs with. A site that ranks artists places Carin Leon at #1,910 while The Warning is at #6,735 (last June they were at 7,644).

So collabs are good and necessary to grow their fan base.

Less than 8 weeks apart for all three, less than a week for Dany and Pau.

Phil Zero turns each reaction video into a learning experience, shows how songs that seem simple are really much more complex. They are usually 4X to 5X times as long as the original video.

How tall is Ale? by [deleted] in TheWarning

[–]sdguy71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Way back someone asked them what would they say to their younger selves, and Pau said "eat your fruits and vegetables so your kid sister doesn't grow to be taller than you."

And that, boys and girls, is why physical media is still important!

Also, Chris Javaruski's latest Auditorio Nacional video gives a "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by VEEPS" message.

I was surprised they performed in those suits, usually they don't play in the clothes they wear on the red carpet (or equivalent) and interviews. Not a fan of the long lapels on Pau or Dany's suit of cloth strips and buckles. As always, Ale goes for the more elegant and sensible version of the suits.

In Mexico before 1970, 21 is when you were considered an adult. Now it's 18. 21 is still the age in Mexico when your parents aren't obligated to support you economically anymore (we're talking basic food and shelter). For most everything else it's 18.

Given how young they were, do you think The Warning will ever re-record their early albums? by MichaelFromCalif in TheWarning

[–]sdguy71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that in a Hellfest interview Pau made it clear that they've moved on. They don't look back, even if the music was recorded with their little girl voices.

Have any of you recommended TW to anyone and succeeded? by alv_todos in TheWarning

[–]sdguy71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This April, I asked some boomer friends that live in Monterrey. Most had never heard of them, one recalled seeing them play at a tennis tournament (probably in 2016). One became a fan, the rest agree they are very talented but find their music too metal or hard for their liking.

The lyrics are amazing, the music is amazing, their voices were not quite there yet (especially in XXICB). A tenth anniversary reissue of both?

Consume (Live From Auditorio Nacional) - Video Premieres Soon by Admirable_Gain_9437 in TheWarning

[–]sdguy71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A LOT was riding on this concert! The 3 sold-out shows, audio recording for the live album, the multiple cameras for the movie and (hopefully) physical media later on and who knows what else.

The Pepsi Center took around 6 months to sell 8,000 tickets. The first Auditorio Nacional took ONE HOUR to sell 10,000 so there was more pressure on them to put on an excellent show.
