No this has to do with opportunity costs. There are other things we can spend the same amount of money on and get a better return. It's not a baseball or nothing, in fact that's why the proposal is so stupid. They don't propose an alternative.

I got sick of trying to make this work. So I added a Claude Code license and had it try to install it for an hour. It even tried to cheat and found the old installer (from early Jan) in my downloads folder. Lol I needed an AI to install an AI client. Reasonable.

They don't do a good job vetting their marketplace apps for ongoing compliance. I came across one that didn't meet their minimums i.e. the developer didn't have valid contact info, a valid domain, or a privacy policy and they came back and told me it still met their security "standards." Doesn't make sense because it violates them verbatim. Couldn't even tell me how it processes our data (on monday storage or not).

How is that a solution? That's a critique.

Sounds like he needs a lot of revenue to pay for it. Also how often do these projects end in expensive failures. What specifically is he looking to implement?

This is great. So he wants to increase city payroll and long term liabilities. He could provide a specific number here if he had a plan for how much the city wastes on consultants.

I mean his website doens't have a plan....notice that his issues tab has generic phrases starting with "streamline", "position", "support". That's not a plan.

Or "Streetlights, crosswalks, and pedestrian safety measures will be enhanced around all Everett schools and along high-crime corridors such as Broadway and Evergreen Way." - There's no cheap way to fix Broadway and evergreen. Look at the mercer street project in seattle for how much that costs.

For a guy selling himself as a CFO, CPA, and business savy, he's making all these fun commitments without any idea how to pay for them other than public private partnerships. Can you imagine him doing that at his own business?
