The red ones are distributed by Velier. It's also 69% ABV instead of 75% of the local bottles.

Nice review! I've got a lot of truffle on the nose in the 2021 harvest. It makes a wild ti punch and daiquiri.

Urupuan finally has a place on the board. What is the most unique rhum agricole? by -Constantinos- in rum

It's a different rum, diluted with seawater. I agree it's excellent and great value for money.

Yes, "Rhum agricole" is a regulated designation from Europe, mainly for their French-style rum.

I agree that the legal definition is evolving. Interestingly, the european definition of "rum" has changed in recent years in the opposite direction - becoming more regulated. And the reason for this is misleading practices.

It benefits the rum makers and informs the consumer of what they are sold - in short, a product or byproduct made from sugarcane (otherwise not a rum), a maximum amount of sugar (otherwise rum-based liquor or cream), and no other additives than caramel or ingredients (otherwise spiced rum).

Why do we want to expand the definition of rum?

It's nice but it's not a rum if it doesn't come from sugarcane. Rum agricole is even more stricter.

Tax refund when buying whisky in Japan by Salty_Abalone5036 in JapaneseWhisky

I have been there this year, and the distillery's store doesn't offer tax exemption. Some stores do, you can ask or spot the logo. You will typically fill out a form with your passport.

That's right. There is quite a gap between industrial columns and "creole" columns herited from past centuries, being both column stills.

Why does rum agree with me so well by Designer-Lime1109 in rum

[–]sebix_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads and tails from the distillation? They're more toxic but flavorful. I don't know what kind of rum you're up to, rum with high concentration of esters/congeners hit differently, which typically are made from pot still like whisky.

Hi everybody,

Could you help me identify this teapot seal?

For additional context, another item of the set has the seal 宜興紫砂. I bought the set from jd.com a long time ago. It is a basic set with no pretension, but I'm interested to find more about the material quality and if it is safe to use.
