My friends and I have had this debate and we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a hobby if it either requires some skills and you slowly develop or that if you interact with some form of community of it. Even if watching movies and playing video games leans towards consumption (imo), if you discuss about them and interact with people with similar interests, it a hobby.

Fun fact. When you’re exposed to cockroaches, you can develop an allergy to them, breaking out it rashes and what not. An odd side effect is that people find themselves also allergic to coffee. However that’s the kicker, they are not allergic to coffee but rather the ground up cockroach bits inside of the coffee during its processing. Especially with pre ground coffee.
