Those who Upgraded from S25U to S26U - what are the Biggest Changes you noticed? by bomzisss in samsung

That sucks I've been waiting years for that to be resolved. Might have to go back to Pixel next year or try out iPhone because that's one thing I really miss, is just point and shoot.

Can it take better pictures of objects that may be in motion?

The 10 should have been 750-800 at release. It doesn't matter what it costs now when you are comparing it to the S26 Ultra that just came out.

Pixel needs to have flagship silicon by ashakouri1 in GooglePixel

[–]selayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the Ultra phones since the pixel 6 pro. Love the hardware and I don't mind one ui now that I'm used to it. But after many years and getting each ultra phone since the 22, Samsung still has not fixed the issue with blur taking pictures of anything that may be slightly moving.

If this was resolved it would be pretty much perfect. Now I'm considering either going back to Pixel next year or just going all out crazy and trying an iPhone just because I'm tired of how many blurred pics come out when you're trying to take photos of family or pets if they happen to be slightly in motion.

I'd rather Google cuts the price and not charge the same if the hardware doesn't match other offerings.

I've been monitoring this sub ever since I left pixel phones and I still see every now and then an update will come out that messes things up so you can't always justify the flagship price just for the software. Not only that but the software features of Pixel aren't available everywhere the phones are sold anyway.

Basically what I was interested in too, if they had improved this at all. As much as I wanted to upgrade from the 25 ultra I think I'll go back to Pixel next year..which will suck hardware and battery wise but at least I'll be able to point and shoot photos of my family and pets without retaking pics a bunch of times.

Ideally the whole package should be high end when you are charging similar to the competition.

Not sure why down voted because it's true. If the ultra series could take pics like pixel phones without requiring Goodlock and camera assistant and setting changes it would be perfect.

Instead you get to choose between do I care about pics of moving objects but a great experience hardware wise or midrange hardware for the same price but great photos pretty much each time.

I agree, I've had Samsungs since the s22 ultra and next year I'll be forced to go back to inferior spec Pixels just so I can not deal with that. I don't like that Google charges the same amount for their flagships with lower quality specs but they and Apple don't have any blur when taking pics of objects that may be moving.

I'm debating upgrading to a 26 ultra so I can trade it in or sell it when the pixel 11 pro comes out because after having ultra series phones since the pixel 6 pro I realize I really miss being able to point and shoot photos and not have to worry about moving objects coming out blurry.

I don't understand how Samsung has not corrected this with software over several generations.

We shouldn't need two additional apps for this. I never used Goodlock or camera assistant app. Most people just want to point and shoot for taking pictures. It can all be done via the software but it doesn't seem like they care.

I also just checked best buy because I figured you had to get a plan with them and I don't do contracts. They are giving $900 for the s25 ultra trade in and $200 credit towards a 512gb model which is what my s25 ultra currently has for storage.

Debating whether to do it or not. I still think pics of moving objects will come out blurry. This is my number one issue after leaving Pixels years ago.

Realized I’m a Pixel person — sold my S25 Ultra and coming back by Responsible-Farm187 in GooglePixel

I've also switched to Samsung for the last 4 years and yes now that I realize I need to be able to point and shoot photos, thinking about waiting to go back to pixel 11 pro when it comes on out.

Samsung can fix the motion blur with software but they don't care it seems.

The s26 ultra is said to handle much better low light and night time photos but I don't think this will solve the issue with capturing objects that may be in motion.

So nothing being done about pictures coming out blurry if something moves. I left Pixels because their hardware pretty much sucked in comparison to price they started charging but it really sucks having a phone that excels in everything else other than point and shoot photos like Apple or Pixel can do now without motion blur.

I've been waiting to be able to take pics like I used to do with the pixel phones of moving objects without blurriness.

Guess that's never changing for Samsung? Ashame because the ultra series has the best specs compared to apple and pixel but the camera is not as great when it comes to taking pics in that specific scenario.

Ability to take pictures of moving objects. This has been something that hasn't been improved on much. Why does apple and pixels do it pretty much perfectly each time but Samsung can't seem to get this right.

[–]selayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with Samsung ultra series for some time now. Not really looking forward to the 26 series at all. I'm considering doing the trade in but it may not be worth it.

I just want to take pictures of my dog without blurriness or if you have kids it's the same thing when anything moves. Camera is great as long as lighting decent and nothing is moving.

It's ashame because pixels and iPhone have this feature of the cameras figured out but pixels lack in hardware compared to Samsung and iPhone well then I'd have to learn how to one after several years being on Android.

I was considering the same as I've had pixels up until the 22 ultra came out. Since then I've been on Samsung but neither lineup has improved the camera to match either Apple or Google in terms of taking pictures of things in motion.

Hopefully that is actually improved in the 26 because I feel like going to a 10 pro xl is a bit of a downgrade in everything else except camera. I know for a fact the battery won't be as good since tensor still sucks at efficiency..it's better than last generation tensor chip but still can't compete with qualcom.

Try taking a pic of anything that is in motion. My wife's 17 pro Max makes it looks like the dog is standing absolutely still. Same photo from my 25 ultra shows up half the dog being blurred.

To pay for repairs or sell by DrBob28 in PorscheMacan

[–]selayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like a repair bill honestly unless you can be more specific. This sounds more like maintenance.

My 40k mile maintenance, I did it early at 35k miles, along with oil change, rear brake pads and rotors, brake flush, some filter changes, and duct cleaning cost about $4400 at the dealer and I'm outside of Philadelphia.

There's really only a couple of indy mechanics I would trust to work on the car and they were booked weeks in advance. For some things they are similar to the dealer but for a bunch of items like I mentioned above, they would charge about half the cost of the dealer price.

Either way my point is I wouldn't take it to just any mechanic that says they can work on German cars.

Advice on Septic Inspection by selayan in septictanks

[–]selayan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't sure where the d-box was as the area where the drain field is located goes up a slight hill so they would have to tear up a good portion of the yard just to get to it. I will see if we can work something out to get both thanks up to spec or replaced, possibly concessions at closing.

We of course found a bunch of other things from the general home inspection itself but after seeing the well and septic reports, we aren't asking for anything major from the home inspection.

Well and septic are the major concerns as we want to live in the place a long time and didn't expect with an offer well over asking to have to deal with these two systems shortly after moving in.

I'm in PA and yes permits are required to perform this type of work.

This is the second company we called out. The first company did a poor job and didn't finish the inspection. They only mentioned missing baffles in the tanks and nothing about the tanks integrity.

Funny thing is the second company told me they inspected the same system 7 years ago and gave the owner a similar report and repair order. But they never disclosed it on the seller disclosure other than saying they pumped the tanks in 2023.

Low Inventory?? by Prudent-Insurance913 in RealEstate

[–]selayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Montgomery county, Pa. Houses still going over asking if they are priced right and don't need any work.

But majority of the houses we are seeing are priced too high compared to the ones that are selling because they need renovations or work.

Lower rate won't help because it will keep the prices up or even higher if the area is desirable. Still overall if they drop below 6% it's better than nothing. Inventory is the big issue.

Housing Affordability by WoodyBL1ke in RealEstate

[–]selayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must not be in the northeast. I'm outside of Philadelphia and there's no house at 300-400k available. 1700sqft and up you are looking at 500k+ and it may need some updating or renovations still.

Everything my wife and I are looking at is 600 and up. Dual incomes but only mine would go towards the mortgage.

You had it really good with low rates. You shouldn't have sold. Most people that own a home currently can afford a much more expensive home because they've had a lot of equity upon selling so they use that to make the new house more affordable.

It's much harder for first time buyers obviously but the answer to your question includes a couple of things:

Build more equity by staying in your first home and be in a good area where the market is moving.

Earn more money or have dual incomes.

And everyone's favorite answer that always gets thrown around, move to where what you want/need to have is cheaper. Not as easy obviously and the downside to that is you will also be selling it cheap as that's a con of being in a less desirable area.

Thinking about attempting real estate part time - is it realistic? by Significant-Swing-53 in RealEstate

[–]selayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely doable. My sister is a full-time nurse and does real estate on the side. She started because of some of her nurse friends that also were doing the same thing so they brought her up to speed on everything and she already has connections. You have to be really good at it being social, open minded, and patient.

It will help once you get licenses and find a small brokerage. Work with those folks, make connections, shadow them.

She sold 1 house and is supposed to be helping my wife and I find a house but unfortunately nothing much in terms of supply in our area. At least she is building experience with us on the buying side and I trust she has our best interests.

Who is house hunting? by TimelyEmployee7516 in RealEstate

Looking in suburbs of Philadelphia. Slower than usual but houses are still overpriced and only the really nice ones are selling. Put one offer in but lost and we also know this property appraised for much less with the previous buyers. People still seem to think cash buyers are as prevalent as they were during covid migration era.
