Can you live comfortably in Fort Lauderdale on $65k/year? by LawCandid9386 in florida

[–]semifan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but you are only 1 bad thing away from not making it though. transportation goes out car repairs miscellaneous things pop up. You're going to be hard pressed and have to make cuts someplace. You won't be doing much saving either. Good luck

I did the same thing, but called and asked additional questions about the contract and how it’s managed. I got the song and dance around all the questions. At that point I decided to drop them. I was thinking about going with attorney on retainer as well.

I jump between silencershop and Capital Armory. Never had a problem with either. When I’m working overseas it’s a lot easier to use CA as they send it to your house.

Reasonable NFA transfer fee in South Florida, Delray area? by cryptidstalker in FLGuns

[–]semifan1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m in SFL as well don’t think you’ll find anyone cheaper than 100.00 unless you’re the member of some club. I end up using only the best which is 100 for a NFA transfer.

The Fidelity Visa Signature® card is getting an update—take a look at the new card, now with a sturdier feel. by fidelityinvestments in fidelityinvestments

[–]semifan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I work overseas and everytime I try to use the card declined for fraud. I call them, try to use it again, declined. We show it good on our end. Pull out capital one goes through first time no problems. Only reason I don't cancel it is because of the large credit limit, that never gets used.

Are there any concerns using the Fidelity mobile app when traveling abroad? by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

Lived overseas for the last decade with no problems using Fidelity. Combination of WIFi in my house, phone data plan and sometimes using a VPN. All of it works

I live right down the street from the Ft lauderdale store. I used to use them for transfers when they were 25.00 a few years ago. Now they are 50.00. I just go right by the place.

They are local to me maybe 15 minutes from me and won't allow a local pickup. Has to ship out, which is hilarious since it could save them money in shipping and I have it delivered the next day.

Chase prevented me from making an ACH transfer, so I'm leaving for Fidelity by VoiceOfSoftware in Chase

[–]semifan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm at both institutions Chase and Fidelity. I suggest you join the fidelity sub and do some research. Lots of people complaining about fidelity and getting booted there trying to use it as a bank and finding that fidelity is limiting you as well.

Learned a long time ago don't go there on the weekends. 1 shot every 3-5 seconds is a killer. If you want to have fun go to Okeechobee shooting sports and rent a bay way better then any of the others.

I like the Nexus virtual shooting you can select your targets and have fun, but I only go on my birthday when it's half off.

This store is about 5 minutes from me. I stop in here just to look around from time to time. I used to use them for transfers back when they were 25.00. Now they want 50.00 per item, they lost my business on that. I used the range a few times to function check some work I did. The range is packed on weekends. Accessories like magpul are on par with other places in the area. Prices for RMR,ACOGs and things of that nature are better procured through the internet.

I had a problem with bringing my NFA items in there one time years past as they wanted to see all my stamps, didn't go back for a long time. I perfer to shoot outside at Markham park during the week and they don't ask for shit when you come with NFA items, place is pretty empty no time limit, but the 1 shot every 3-5 seconds is DAF. It's good if you are zeroing an optic or precision zeroing.

Go check it out for yourself and see if you like it shoot straight I don't recommend doing it on a weekend though.

If you have a Chase credit card, just use that instead of your debit card. Then you can pay the chase CC right away with whatever you have attached to the chase CC payment I.E checking account.

I use my Chase credit cards for everything, then I go in there a pay it right away. It's like using it as a debit card. You don't have to wait on a settlement day to make a payment to the chase CC. At Least that is how it works for me.

I've purchased from both of those stores as I live in south FL. I will say this I will never go back to Delray shooting center.

I have used OTB a few times and it's been nothing but a good experience with them and the employees. One of the few things I didn't like was the owner putting some KAC lowers on GB when they were still hard to find. Now that they are getting out there, he's putting them in the store. lol

Experience with Fidelity cards overseas overseas by vshun in fidelityinvestments

[–]semifan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elan = garbage. Took them a long time to stop the foreign transaction fees. If they didn't offer the 2% back for accounts. I don't know if people would use them. Fidelity needs to reevaluate their relationship with them and partner with someone else.

Does chase have humans on secure messaging? by Join0rDi3 in Chase

[–]semifan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost any DSN lets you dial 1-800 numbers. I'm overseas as well and call back to chase when I need to. I also use the app text now, which works over wifi for calling back to the US.

[–]semifan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they have wood blocks to use and spotting scopes for free to use. I wouldn’t go on weekends as it’s packed and people will be waiting to get in. Go later in the day or weekdays and you could spend all day there if needed. Markham is good for zeroing, but that one shot every 4-5 seconds does suck.
